International boys name needed!

Hi,

We are completely stuck on what to name our newly arrived little boy.

I am British, husband is Dutch and we live in Lisbon so ideally need a name that can be easily pronounced in English/Dutch/Portuguese. We are finding it very difficult.

My favourites were Alex, Max and Lucas but all have been recently ruled out by close friends/siblings unfortunately.

Our current idea is Tomas.

We have a very long, very Dutch sounding last name (think Van Der ....) so would prefer something shorter.

We are likely to be in Lisbon until our son is at least in high school when we will most likely return to the UK. So it is important to me that his name still works in English.

Any ideas/help much appreciated! Thank you

Tomas is great.
Anton might work also. And Alvar, Bruno, Edgar, Elias, Hugo.
Daniel works in many languages. So does David.

Love Tomas.

My friend is Brazilian, her husband English living in the Netherlands and they have a Tomas and a Dante.

We have Dutch family, we chose John!

Really like Tomas, the missing h will be a minor irritation if he comes back to the UK, but he’ll be mostly called Tom anyway -
