Margot or Jasmine?

Plus other ideas for girls please! How popular are these two - by popular I mean babies/under 5s.

Of the two I much prefer Jasmine.

Similarly popular at the moment but Jasmine is dropping out of the top 100 and Margot is shooting up the Top 100.

I know of three Margots under 2 and don't know any Jasmines at all so that one sounds fresher to me. Plus I love the plant.

I really like Margot, Jasmine is fairly common around here so just seems like a standard name. I've only known one Margot and she is incredible

My DD has friends called Margot and Jasmine but they are now in their mid 20's. They get called Madge and Jas in case nicknames influence your choices.

I love the name Margot. Jasmine is a pretty name but it’s used much more than Margot.

I've got a neighbour with a young teen jasmine who's always screaming her name down the street so not keen on that one myself 🤔 I knew an old lady, at least 90, called Marigold who was always known as Margot so that's probably due a comeback. I do like flower names but don't think my three sons would have appreciated them😂

I prefer Margot however its quite popular at the moment so depends if that bothers you. I also feel like it looks like maggot 🤣 so prefer Margo

I agree with pp, I always think maggot when I see Margot! I think I prefer Jasmine.

Both nice, but Jasmine is nicer.
The Jasmines I know both tend to end up being called Jaz so only go for it if you are OK with that (I like Jaz as a NN though)

We were talking about names with my daughter and her boyfriend.
the name was for their friends baby. When I said Margot the boys face lit up and he said ' yeah like Margot Robbie, she'd get it ' now that was just one reaction from a young man but I kind of think he'd not be the only one to give that reaction . Not sure that's what I'd like for my baby, so it would be Jasmine for my vote, despite me absolutely loving both names .
