Hi!

I’m not expecting yet but simply really enjoy finding names I like. I love the aesthetic of it and find it very satisfying finding new personal favorites. I’m really curious if you guys are able to pick up on the style that I like and come with some suggestions. I seem to like a combination of old classic names, Scandinavian and French names and some random quirky ones. This is not at all my shortlist, but some of my current favorites are Emeric, Hugo, Otto, Piers and Percy, Elliott, Filippa, Lilah, Una, Faye and Scout. TIA!

BOYS : Emeric, Reuben, Elliott, Emiel/Emile, Henric, Isaac, Emmett, Hugo, Floyd, Otto, Emre/Ymre, Percy, Lennon, Ezra, August, Jules, Forrest, Sonny, Briar, Arden, Jude, Leroy, Silas, Elias, Darcy, Arlen, Bobby, Flo, Marlon, Ivan, Alec, Björn, Thies, Fraser, Iljas, Ellis, Yves, Luc, Elon

GIRLS: Florence, Filippa, Heidi, Leila/Lilah, Sigrid, Annika, Emery, Isla, Rosa, Orla, Leonore, Imogen, Flora, Bruna, Agnes, Sari/Suri, Isra, Theo, Iva, Scout, Freddie, Una, Audrey, Mathea, Matisse, Faye

Love your style, OP. My own children have incredibly tame names by comparison. In an alternative reality, I'm much braver and my kid's names are Ishbel and Soren.

I'm watching with interest as I'm pregnant with my second and have a very similar aesthetic - you've got both my first and my cats name in your lists! But can't think of anything else I'm loving at the moment that I can use (neighbours dogs/other kids in the town we live in)...

Think we have fairly similar taste too OP - I like lots of your existing list, and also lots of the additions that PPs have suggested.

I'm no help, other than to say I've just fallen in love with the name Agnes.

Emeric is way too like emetic for me! What about Edgar or Eric instead?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 14/01/2022 20:20

Agree Emeric sounds like a medical procedure - similar style Emrys or Alaric are much nicer imo.

Other ancient/poetic feeling names I love from various nationalities are Rollo, Leif, Laith, Macsen, Wolfric for boys and Gwyneira, Nimue, Corisande, Ismene, Saga, Sunniva, and Linnea for girls
