Awful

stickygotstuck · 13/01/2022 07:34

Lovely. I also know a very nice teenager with the name.

As for associations, you can't control that. Things change. Take my 44 year old friend Alexa, for example. Still a lovely name which she likes it's her identity. And there's always an idiot or two, and you have no control over those anyway. Go for it I'd say.

SummaLuvin · 13/01/2022 08:54

I don't mind it. While I don't think Harvey is super popular, it does fit within the current boys name trend of fairy traditional names ending in an 'eee' sound.

Harvey is a common enough name that I don't think Weinstein makes it unusable as there are many other associations too - some people will immediately think Weinstein, but I didn't, I thought Katie Price and her son. I don't see this as a 'bad' association, Katie is not perfect and not everyone likes her, but it's widely accepted that she has been a wonderful mother to Harvey.

wingsofabird · 13/01/2022 09:03

I really like it

WhoppingBigBackside · 13/01/2022 09:36

It's quite nice

onedayoranother · 13/01/2022 11:50

Very old fashioned.

I’m showing my age because I immediately thought six foot invisible rabbit.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/01/2022 12:32

I think Harvey's Bristol Cream, Katie Price's son, and Harvey Smith the show jumper guy.

liveforsummer · 13/01/2022 12:38

I think it's a lovely snake and didn't think of any of the connections til they were painted out on here. Even still doesn't over power it

liveforsummer · 13/01/2022 12:39

Snake? Bloody auto correct. NAME

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:42

Most people will surely think KP or Weinstein.

First one no reason not have same name as her son. Just question if want to have same name as he vv well known iyswim.

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:44

Well tbh my very first was Harvey E17 but thought that probably not most people thing!

MargotsBumpyNight · 13/01/2022 12:44

Lovely name. I associate it with the Jimmy Stewart film first and foremost too.

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:45

@Snowiscold

I quite like it. I know a super one in his 20s. He’s quite posh, so it has those vibes to me.
Was it Brian Harvey? [Grin]

If so can I meet him?

Used to love E17 back in the day!

etulosba · 13/01/2022 13:30

Very old fashioned

I have known several Harveys in the last few years. Age range 18 to early 20s.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/01/2022 13:44

I think of all Katie Price’s children Harvey by far got the best name. Bunny and Princess not so much.

LondonWolf · 13/01/2022 13:45

I think it’s a dog’s name. I know so many.

Blueberryflavour · 13/01/2022 13:48

I like it, I know a lovely teenage Harvey so only positive associations for me.

Junior and Jet aren’t the best to be fair. Harvey definitely won the baby name lottery in that house! I’d hate to be called Bunny or Princess as a real life person.
Curiousmouse · 13/01/2022 13:49

I don't like it

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/01/2022 13:52

I forgot about Junior and Jet! Yikes.

Norts10 · 13/01/2022 20:51

I know a Harvey born last year, I hadn’t associated the name with Weinstein or Katie Price until now,
I don’t think anyone would unless they were looking for a connection.
It’s a nice name.

Firebird83 · 13/01/2022 21:49

Don’t like it at all

OverByYer · 13/01/2022 21:55

I love the name.
My son is aged 20, he is lovely and his name totally suits him.
Its a very old name, from the French Hervé.
I know it doesn't pass the MN test but each to their own.

TheBermudaTriangle · 15/01/2022 07:24

Not a fan - too many creepy old men called Harvey and in of itself it is a very "wet" name.
