Middle names help needed!

Hi everyone

I always love looking at people's suggestions for names and figured I'd ask for some inspiration for a middle name! First name is Georgina and surname begins with G so don't want another G in the middle.

We're thinking of a one syllable name and so far have Georgina Rose or Georgina Mae...any other suggestions or is there one you think sounds better?

Thank you!

Georgina Kate
Georgina Clare
Georgina Elle
Georgina Lee
Georgina Beth

Georgina Olive
Georgina Lucille
Georgina Charlotte

Definitely not Rose or Mae. Very much filler names that spoil Georgina. I think:

Georgina Elise
Georgina Faith
Georgina Kate
Georgina Iris
Georgina Alice
Georgina Sylvie
Georgina Violet

IggyAce · 11/01/2022 14:53

Rose and Mae are very much this generations filler middle names.
How about something longer:
Evangeline
Charlotte
Adelaide
Or shorter:
Rae
Anne
Eve

ThelastRolo20 · 11/01/2022 15:45

Thanks everyone! Will continue thinking and will consider longer names too :)

Initials of GAG really isn't great....

HerRoyalHappiness · 11/01/2022 15:52

Georgina Marie
I know you said one syllable but this was my childhood best friends name and I think it sounds great

FayCarew · 11/01/2022 15:54

Rose - this generation's Louise
Mae - hideous spelling of a boring name
Rae - just no.

I'd not use a name starting wih a vowel because of the eliding r.
Georgina Rann
Georgina Reve etc

A J name would be too much

Fern
Fay
Faith
Hope
Tess
Beth
Bess
Bette
Ruth
Lynne
Skye
Kate
Lise

LyraVega · 11/01/2022 15:57

Georgina Eve

(the pp pointed out it would sound like georgina reve but it doesn't in my accent so it must depend what area you're from)

I like the suggestion of Georgina Marie as above too

I thought middle names were there to inflict/ pay homage to the names of loved ones, ancestors, ‘family’ names, even an appropriate maiden name? I jest of course but that’s what led the thinking for my two

Chunkymenrock · 11/01/2022 16:02

Faye, Fern, Cleo, Tamsin, Faith?

FayCarew · 11/01/2022 16:06

@LyraVega, I've lived in different parts of the UK and it is common.
Thinking about it, I'd cross out Hope as well or sh'e'll be Georgina Rope

I'd pick a middle name you like or that has meaning to you, not a middle name for the sake of it

Stevearnottsbeard · 11/01/2022 16:17

Georgina ivy
Georgina cerys
Georgina violet
Georgina lily

Undertheoldlindentree · 11/01/2022 16:25

Georgina Rose is lovely, or as someone else said, maybe Georgina Alice. The whole point of a name that people dismiss as a 'filler' is to balance and complement a busy sounding first name. Another old one is Jane - almost sounding classic now.

It's like greenery to offset the flowers in a bouquet or vanilla ice-cream with chocolate fudge cake - a great balance! Two busy names together, eg. Georgina Lucille is too much imo.

SallyWD · 11/01/2022 16:26

Why not choose a middle name to honour a family member? Once you've announced the birth you really hardly ever mention the middle name again!

Ceramide · 11/01/2022 17:25

Georgina Poppy
Georgina Beatrix
Georgina Sophie
Georgina Caitlin
Georgina Daisy
Georgina Hazel
Georgina Xanthe
Georgina Megan
Georgina Pearl
Georgina Willow
Georgina Robyn
Georgina Zoe
Georgina Seren
Georgina Holly
Georgina Charlotte

ThelastRolo20 · 11/01/2022 17:46

Thanks everyone. We settled on Georgina Catherine. A family name and has more meaning than the original options - you've all been a great help!

Love your choice 🥰

Lovely choice, so pleased you went with a longer middle name and one that has a special meaning.
