My due date is Jan 16th and I know I have 6 weeks after that to name her, but I wanted dh to ring family to say she's arrived with a name.
My favourite name has always been Mabli but DH went off it. I thought we'd cracked it with Nerys but I went off it and DH said he had too.
The name doesn't have to be Welsh. We have a very boring surname and I want something to stand out against it. I'm not into 'flouncy' names, surnames or unisex names. DH likes a good flounce! Mn will be Joanne/Joanna due to honouring family.
At the moment we have nothing. Please help!

Can you give some more examples of names you both liked but weren't quite right? That way people can make suggestions with a similar vibe without you getting loads you've already discounted 😊

Lacedwithgrace · 06/01/2022 22:38

Rhiannon, Erin, Bronwyn, Seren, Rory, Skye, Mairi, Cora. It's so difficult to find slightly unusual but not youneek names with meaning!

Heruka · 06/01/2022 22:42

There’s a Scottish name Marsali, since you liked Mabli. Mabel too. Nancy? Flora?

Scirocco · 06/01/2022 22:50

What about Fiona or Ffion? They'd have connections with your heritage and I think they'd go with your chosen middle name.

But to be honest, Mabli is lovely and I’d see if my DH didn’t magically come around to it when she’s born - my DH reckons he’d have agreed to anything I liked in the moments post-birth Grin

What is is about Mabli your DH didn't like? What does he like that you don't and vice versa - might help us think of something you would both like?
