What do people think of Quinn for a little boy? Is it a goer?

I like it but to me it’s definitely a girls name. I actually know 5 people who’ve called their baby Quinn recently and they’re all girls (and also American in case that matters).

The teen boy in White Lotus is called Quinn. I see it as unisex.

Angel2702 · 05/01/2022 09:38

I know a Quinn who is a boy teenager now though, only one I know.

littlemissalwaystired · 05/01/2022 09:39

I only know one Quinn and he's a little boy. I love it!

canarycages · 05/01/2022 09:52

It's unisex to me. I've met both a boy and a girl Quinn. There's also Quincy nn Quinn/Quince if you like that?

DotDotDotDotDot · 05/01/2022 09:58

Using Irish surnames as first name seems like a bit of an American trend, but maybe you are? I can see the appeal but it’s not for me personally.

Ladybird900 · 05/01/2022 10:03

I prefer Quinn for a boy. It’s cute and smart, I like it.

FlamingoDust · 05/01/2022 10:30

I only know 1 Quinn and they are male

Mouk · 05/01/2022 10:33

There is a boy named Quinn in my daughters class. He's 8.

toastofthetown · 05/01/2022 10:48

While personally I see Quinn as more feminine, the name stats in England and Wales show a similar number of male and female Quinns.

I really like Quinn and we're thinking of it for a middle name if we end up with a baby boy - definitely unisex I would say.

irishfarmer · 05/01/2022 11:25

I don't see it as male or female and don't know anyone with that as a first name. I know plenty of people with it as a surname around here though.

Blubells · 05/01/2022 13:00

Love Quinn and only know boys!

It's a strong name like Finn or Flynn.

Blubells · 05/01/2022 13:04

I also know a few Quentins who go by Quinn if you wanted a longer name.

OtiMama · 05/01/2022 15:13

I know Quinn boy and girl boy same time as my son.

I love it for a boy more than a girl.

OtiMama · 05/01/2022 15:13

I meant born not boy again!

LondonQueen · 05/01/2022 15:14

I know 3 Quinn's and all are males under 18.

northernbutterfly · 05/01/2022 15:19

Thanks everyone! More popular than I thought!! We have a Mc surname, my DH is worried the M might make it dodgy... what do you think

Only know one Quinn, male

ShowOfHands · 05/01/2022 15:24

I read it as a surname first and then v v similar to quim and can't get past it.

Blubells · 05/01/2022 16:37

What's wrong with e.g. Quinn McDonald or Quinn McMillan?

I think Quinn is a great name - strong and not overused. And Q is a cool initial 😎

Minster2012 · 05/01/2022 16:47

We considered it for DS, I like it

Omicrone · 05/01/2022 16:49

I do like Quinn, and the only ones I know in real life are boys, but then someone pointed out that its very close to 'quim' and it put me off!

ThatNameAgainItsMrPlow · 05/01/2022 16:54

It looks like Quim written down

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/01/2022 21:12

Quinn McSomething does sound like someone out of a Doctor-Nurse romance - Dr Quinn McLeod

It is also a little close to Quim
