I know Leo is super popular right now. It will be shortened to that, but what does everyone think ?

We are of Italian heritage as well. So quite fitting I guess !

Very nice

I love Leo/Leonardo, it’s such a great name. It was probably top of my boys list when I was expecting my DD 3 years ago. However it has shot up the charts, Leo was no. 6 in 2020 and when you consider some will register as Leonardo and other variations then shorten to Leo that makes it even more popular still. This has probably ruled Leo out for me it I were to have a DS. Saying that popularity of names is a personal thing and only you can decide how much it bothers you. You might regret not using a name you love. Good luck though, I love Italian names by the way.

I think it works if you have Italian heritage.

Aw thank you !

We also chose a reasonably popular name for our DD. So I don't mind that much.

But then again, she's not at school yet or anything so I don't actually know what it will be like if there are lots of kids with the same name in the class Confused

We've liked it for ages as well and would have chosen it for DD if she'd been a boy obviously !

Beautiful name as most italian names!

Nice
Also like Leonora if you aren’t sure what you having yet

I’m of Italian heritage and liked leonardo but compromised on Leo since my OH wasn’t keen on going full Italian and that’s what he would have been mostly called anyway. Doesn’t bother me that it’s popular. I also love Lorenzo!

Lorenzo is also lovely !

We have the choice of my father in laws name- and I'm NOT up for that. So outdated. My DH would love that though.

Or Leonardo - but I think we will always just call him
Leo.

It was the most popular boys name for 2020 in Italy. This surprised me as I've been teaching for 27 years and have only had 1!
