NotAnotherPushyMum · 29/12/2021 22:05

I know a boy called Torrin. His nickname is Tornado.

Bergamotte · 29/12/2021 22:21

It's a boy's name. Usually spelled "Torin" in Ireland or "Torran" in Scotland.

inheritancetrack · 29/12/2021 22:24

Boy. It's not at all feminine

Omicrone · 29/12/2021 22:24

Have you just been watching The Voice Kids? Smile

Omicrone · 29/12/2021 22:25

The girl who just won The Voice is called Torrin. I quite like it for a girl.
TeddyTonksGirlfriend · 29/12/2021 22:28

Yes, been watching the voice. She seemed a lovely kid Smile

I know a boy called Torran. He's lovely.

NotRainingToday · 29/12/2021 22:30

I know a female Torin, she is 30. I think it's a very pretty name

GoodMorningMillicent · 29/12/2021 22:31

I know a teenage girl called Torrin (not the Voice winner!).

Onlinedilema · 30/12/2021 00:07

I only know a bit called Torrin no girls.

Onlinedilema · 30/12/2021 00:08

Boy not bit.

ElinorOliphant · 30/12/2021 00:08

I know a boy Torin.

Lovely name for either sex IMO

Ceramide · 30/12/2021 00:11

I quite like Torin for a boy, but the Torrin spelling is too similar to torrid.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/12/2021 00:54

It does make me think torrid

I’d use the proper Scottish spelling and use it only for a boy..

Changethetoner · 30/12/2021 03:59

It's a boy name. There is also Orrin. or alternatively spelt Orrein.

reallyalurker · 30/12/2021 18:57

I think of it as a female name because of Torin Kerr, the heroine in Tanya Huff's Valor Confederation books. I like the sound of it.

Roselilly36 · 30/12/2021 19:02

I have only known a boy called Torin.

DialSquare · 30/12/2021 19:17

I knew a boy Toren in the 80s. Not heard of anyone else with that name.

Wbeezer · 30/12/2021 19:27

I know a boy Torran (well man really as he's in his 20s now). Loves in Argyll, i think of it as a Highland /Gaelic name. I actually think it's a bit off to use names with a particular cultural connection of you just like the sound, especially for the wrong sex. Obviously people are free to call their children what they want but I would only call a boy Torrin /Torran and preferably if I had some cultural connection.
