Thoughts on this name please? Also how would it be proununced in your region?
Ever met someone/how would you picture someone named like this? Does it go with a classic name?
Thank you :)

Seems fine to me

CustardCreamsAndMintTea · 18/12/2021 22:38

Ive only known it with an e spelling- Cassien. Its a Lovely name.

Shmithecat2 · 18/12/2021 22:39

Cass Ee An

Love it.

Kanaloa · 18/12/2021 22:42

It’s nice. I would pronounce it cass ee an. I’m not sure if it ‘goes’ with a classic name, depends on the name sounds to me? So Cassian Alexander sounds nice but I would say Cassian Christopher is a bit stilted.

AwkwardPaws27 · 18/12/2021 22:42

I haven't heard it before but think the pronunciation is pretty straightforward.

Google suggests a slightly unpleasant meaning though - hollow, vain or empty - if that matters to you.

It sounds quite nice, but personally I prefer Caspian.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/12/2021 23:08

CASS-ee-un is how the one I know says it, and I think that’s pretty much the only way it’s said.

I really like it, and also the feminine Cassia

Passthewinebottle · 18/12/2021 23:14

I think it's gorgeous. A very strong name. Very masculine & gentlemanly IMO

Sugarandshine · 18/12/2021 23:21

I love it
It would be cass-ee-un
I do like caspian better but love them both

LittleDidSheKnow · 19/12/2021 12:16

I'd probably pronounce it - lazily, I know - as 'Cash-en'.
I like it,but probably prefer Cassius. Caspian sounds pretentious.

babyshark03 · 19/12/2021 20:33

@LittleDidSheKnow

You are not the only one - seems there are two versions.

@Kanaloa I would like to have Cassian and then a more traditional name, in case ds might find his name to random one day. Alexander goes well along with it for sure :)

@AwkwardPaws27 thanks for this. It's a misinformation, found on a lot of pages for names, really weird. I learnt Latin for many years, luckily I can say it's not the meaning.

Cassian and Caspian were both on my list for a boy, I liked Cas for a nn. Cassian Alexander is a lovely name 😊

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 19/12/2021 20:37

It's gorgeous - what is the meaning pls?

Kanaloa · 19/12/2021 20:54

@BewareTheRedNosedDragon

It means ‘hollow.’ If meanings bother you it might not be the one! But lots of people (me included) don’t mind too much about the meanings. Tristan and Kennedy are both popular but don’t have very nice meanings!

babyshark03 · 19/12/2021 21:21

@BewareTheRedNosedDragon
Thank you. The meaning is 'from the family Cassian', however it's very likely related to Cassius, which probably had it's origin from 'cassus', which means empty, hollow. Hope that make sense :)

Love the combination Cassian Alexander.
A good strong name

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 19/12/2021 21:26

Thanks - interesting.

Bumble9193 · 19/12/2021 21:27

I had my first baby back in October and we named him Cassian Alexander so I think it goes perfectly Smile

inmyslippers · 19/12/2021 21:28

Did you post about it here? For some reason when I read the op ‘Cassian Alexander’ came right into my head! I thought I must have seen it somewhere before.
Bumble9193 · 19/12/2021 21:40

No I didn’t post about it on here Smile We picked Cassian after first hearing it in a Star Wars film and then Alexander is a family name.

Kanaloa · 19/12/2021 21:43

How weird! Maybe it just fits together naturally! It’s such a lovely name together, just the right mix of ‘different’ and classic, and very strong.

Geminimama88 · 20/12/2021 08:07

Love it x

Olga03 · 20/12/2021 14:41

Beautiful name, doesn't sound made-up but not very common at the same time ❤️

Tal45 · 20/12/2021 15:28

I think Cass is a nice nn too.
