Favourite nn for Elizabeth?

I'm starting to quite like Elizabeth, mainly due to the abundance of nicknames. My favourite is Beth I think. Someone suggested Tess could also be nn? What would your favourite nn be? Also, do you think naming your baby Elizabeth might make you sound a bit royalist??

We have an Elizabeth. She is either Effy or Aofie (As in E-for-Elizabeth). But I've heard Bitsy as well which I love.

I once met a (very nice) woman whose name was the Polish form of Elizabeth, but she was always known as 'Ela'.

As to the many and various other names - I think they suit different personalities. Lizzie Bennet, Beth March - they're the right NN for each.

Nope, doesn't make you sound like a royalist - Elizabeth has masses of namesakes as it's completely timeless (only girls name to have stayed in the most popular/common names lists since the 1300's to the present day!). Having said that, my fave nn for it is Bess - as in "Good Queen Bess"! (Elizabeth I). Second choice nn would be Elsa, although it's gone a bit Disney now.

Betty , nothing wrong with being named after our Queen, she’s a remarkable woman.

I love Elizabeth. My favs from it are Lizzy and Betty.

The dog is called Betsy.

I like Liz for adults but I'd probably use Lizzie at least until secondary school.

I like Bess and Betsy, but I also know a French Elizabeth who is known as Zab or Zabette which I love.

I wouldn’t assume royalist unless you called her Lilibet for short

and my Goddaughter who just goes my Elizabeth.

Tess is 100% a nn for Teresa, not Elizabeth.

My daughter is Lizzie, also love Betty and Betsy. Not as keen on Beth or Libby.
