There are many people here who don't like Rose, Grace, May, James, Ann, Louise etc as middle names as they are so commonly used.

If that's you, I'm curious to know what interesting middle name you chose for your child!

DD's middle name is Autumn. Not all that uncommon any longer as I hear it more and more these days.

Twizbe · 13/12/2021 16:53

My children have quite boring middle names - Thomas and Elizabeth.

If DD had been a DS though, her middle name would have been Roger. That's a name you never hear any more.

KirstenBlest · 13/12/2021 17:17

They didn't get middle names

EllaT84 · 13/12/2021 17:25

My middle name is Juanita. It's my grandmother's name. My DDs' middle names are Melody and Penelope. My DS's middle is Ronald. Feel like they're all a bit random!

Too identifying but mine all have places which are special to us (and are thematically linked) as middle names. GPs are third names.

BonnyEm · 13/12/2021 18:57

From my favourite book of all time. Too outing to mention as it's very unusual in this country.

Scarby9 · 13/12/2021 18:59

I fancy a meaningful place name, like the Camerons did with Florence.
You can get away with that for a middle name, I think, rather like using a surname.

Margot
Hugo
Roderick

My DS middle name is Duke - it was the name of my great grandad who died a year before he was born.

I was always going to give a child the middle name of Danger.

Maybe that's why I wasn't able to have kids..... Grin

We're using Joanna as a middle name for our first. It's a mash up of our mum's names.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 13/12/2021 22:39

Constance
Viola
Gabriel

My great nephews' middle names are Alaric and Wulfric, and their sister is Ethelyn. I haven't heard of anyone with those before, but my niece is very into history. Their first names are biblical.

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/12/2021 08:31

We used Juliet and Skye for our girls. I also think the following work well for middles

Florence
Pearl
Juno
Joy
Honey
Sunday
Lily
Ivy
Wren
Opal
Alice
Clementine
Eloise
Marigold
Primrose
Robyn
Iris
Willow
Daisy
Holly
Beatrice
Violet
Scarlett
Harriet
Faye
Annabelle
Isabel
Imogen

A friend's daughter has the middle name Jasmine (which I think it really rather lovely).

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 14/12/2021 08:39

is not it! (Gaaaaaa!)

DD's is Lorna after the grandmother she never knew. I have a very common first name so glad my middle name is less common (it's a normal name, just not one of the standard 80s middle names)

Zoflorabore · 15/12/2021 23:20

Outing to anyone who happens to know me but hey ho!

My dd’s middle names are Valentine as she was born on 14th February and Albertine after my lovely dgm who died when I was 6 months pregnant with her. Dgm was German and I’ve never met anyone else with the same name.

Dd tends to just use Valentine though if asked what her middle name is.

Largethighsbadeyes · 15/12/2021 23:24

I think a lot of people use family names as middle names, so grandparents who are deceased etc

If I'd had a girl her middle name would have been Kate after my grandma.

There is an Albertine in my DC's school, it's a beautiful name.

DS has Michael as a middle name which is unusual now.

Louisa (after my grandmother)

Leonard,Philip (my grandad and my dad)

Benjamin,Samuel Thomas (my brothers)

Jack,Matthew (the male form of my mothers name and a gent I grew up knowing-he sadly died just before my son was born)

Thomas (after his fathers brother)

Rose,Alice, may (my mothers middle name,my great grandmothers and my aunts middle name)

When pregnant,I seem to go slightly nuts for middle names
