I'm not finding out what I'm having , but in my brain I'm only finding girls names because i already have a boy 🤣but obviously it could well be a little boy again which I would be delighted with!!

Some girls names I have are

Fleur
Olianna
Avianna
Riona
Ainè
Evelina

But my husband is not liking many of them !!

The only boys names I have are

Ezra (which husband Hates )
Rowan

I am open to anything but would love some ideas of unique boys and girls names !

Thank you

@Buddhabowl thank you so much for this comment!! I've come to realise some people on mumsnet just like to belittle people!

How about Gilda for a girl - it apparently means covered in gold. There was a film starring Rita Hayworth called Gilda made sometime in the 1940’s.

@Buddhabowl I actually quite like Aeryn! Thank you

If you are considering less mainstream names think about how many times your child will be asked

"How do you spell that?"

For example Gregory majority of people would be able to spell that. And the question may occur less.

If you look at the Gov lists of baby names and scroll to the bottom of the lists you will be able to see the names that have been given to at least three children in that year. It might help you get an idea what is less popular.

I echo a PP who has said that the name that was given rose hugely in popularity. Pick a name that you love.

Watch film credits, you will be bombarded with names and you might get ideas from these.

I have several friends who were given unusual names and they have all changed them to very mainstream names with simple straightforward spellings.

@Buddhabowl yeah completely agree. Whenever people say "unique" but it's obvious they mean "uncommon" it seems to be like a red rag to a bull on mumsnet!! I agree it was obvious what you meant OP 💐

Rowan can be a girls' name.

Meriel, I've only met one (who has never met another) and spoken to a different one.

I once met a Jowan - Cornish boy's name. You pronounce the 'w' so it sounds like Jo - Won
