Scandinavian boys' names

Baby due in May will have DH's (very English) surname, but we would both like to recognise my Norwegian heritage by picking a Scandinavian first name.

Thor is out because of the Marvel connotations, which is annoying as it was actually my great uncle's name and I really like it!

We both like:
Magnus
Torsten
Torvald (I prefer the Thorvald spelling but probably best avoided for reasons above!)

I like Soren and DH likes Arne, but we disagree on those. Any other suggestions?

I thought the rs sound in Norwegian is like sh in English, as Norsk is pronounced noshk, but I could be wrong, I'm not a native speaker.

I may be overthinking this but if your baby is born on Thursday - Thor's day, then definitely choose one of names with the Tor- start.

I think it might be Swedish instead of Norwegian, but I love Ove (from A man called Ove). Also Magnus but that's because I know quite a few being Scottish, Gus is also a great nn.

Sven is predominantly Danish/Swedish/German

Norwegian is Svein, doesnt work well in English

My Swedish friend has a son called Axel, lovely name. There's a series of books about a Viking for children and his name is Sigurd so that may be a bit funny for him if they do that in school. Or he may love it!

DD2 was almost Elsa and when Frozen first came out she was most annoyed I'd chosen her name over Elsa.

you can't do Kettil do hi, quite apart from how you make a drink, he was a baddy in Vikings and wouldn't share his whale. I desperately wanted Lagertha for a girl but the chromosomes in the sperm denied me a girl.

Torbien was on my boy list (loooooove it) and i like Torsten. Stellan is too much like Stella for me and the kids eat too much Soreen for me to like Soren
