Or Eden Magdalena

What do you like best? My other children have two middle names, but Magdalena is so long I thought one would suffice. Genevieve is my DH's favourite name and Mary one of my (other) favourites, but love Magdalena too.

Our boy's name choice is Moses but we haven't got any ideas for middles yet, so that will be a different thread, unless you have any suggestions!)

(If you don't like any of the names, no need to comment, thank you! Not looking for opunions on Eden or Moses as have already dedicted several-page-long threads to that, just looking for middle names now Smile)

I know a Bethlehem known as Beth 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don't think I've ever heard three names that go together less than Eden, Mary and Genevieve.
Magdalena Eden is the best combination of the names in the OP, if you must.

Yes, there's nothing weird about biblical place names being used as names. I'm with you on this! Ophir is a very popular Israeli name (Ophira another girl's version), both from the place Ophir in the bible, which some people consider to be today's India. Jordan and Bethany are two incredibly well-known biblical place names. Judah is obviously a place name and so is Zion, Ariel, Bethel, Aviv/Aviva, Bethlehem. Eden was very popular with the puritans and has been in jse ever since, so I'm not sure why some people are confused by it. I expect it is all about different personal interests (those who have read the bible will consider the biblical places, i suppose football fans will think of football!)

Mary is absolutely fine imo. Even if OP was in the UK and using it for a first name, then I still think the majority of people would view it as a classic retro/vintage name with some obvious religious links rather than automatically thinking "vagina" or "Hairy Mary/Virgin Mary" or whatever teasing. I can see Mary making a big comeback in future along with similar style names like Ruth, Frances, Margaret, Anne, Jane etc - all classics sadly fallen out of fashion.

Eden does have a more contemporary sound though so I can see why OP is drawn to it as a first name - while it is technically unisex being a nature/Biblical place name, it has definitely gone more to the girls side (in the top 100 for girls here in the UK now!).

Genevieve is just simply a pretty, French sounding name to me, although in my ignorance I didn't know it had Biblical links (I think Eden/Mary/Magdalena are much more obviously so).

I love Eden Mary Genevieve and am sad that I'm too old for more babies.

Argh, I mean because I'd consider it for my own daughter otherwise 🤣

I've heard Genevieve pronounced both as Jen-uh-veev, or as Zhon-vee-ev, and that might make a difference how it flows with your surname.

I think Mary is traditional enough that the slang interpretations would usually be the first thing that someone thinks of.

Eden seems much more modern. All three are extremely different names, that's for sure, but if they flow well with your name and you like them, fair enough!
