Maeven for a girls name?

What do you think of Maeven? Shortened to Maeve, perhaps?

Rachel Riley, the Countdown maths whizz, called her DD Maven. I rather like it. It has no relation to Maeve, though.

Strange fusion of Maeve and Maven (which latter isn't a name) that will give her a lifetime of 'no, with an AE. No, with an N on the end. Yes, AE and an N on the end'. Don't do it.

Is it a real name? I’ve never heard it. There’s Maeve and Mavis which I think are both nice. I think Mavis could be doing with a comeback anyway!

Maven is a noun, and would be an odd name, a bit like calling your DC Connoisseur. The Maeven spelling is awful

To rhyme with Raven? I think it sounds dark somehow. I think that of all the M names that sound like they could be/are Arthurian. Morgan, Mordred, Morgana, Morag. I am a witch at times myself but they sound too witchy. The Raven rhyme would confirm the witch connection in my mind.

A maven is an expert, someone who knows a lot about something.
