Shortlist and fun middle names

We're expecting a little girl and our shortlist is:

Aurelia
Beatrix
Raphaela

We want a fun middle name.
My OH is really into Sci-Fi so one option is Ripley. Also some more random ones like ember or pepper.
Which name do you prefer and what are some fun middle names that could flow?

Raphaela Ember is gorgeous! I heard of a baby Ember recently and love the name

OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 15/11/2021 17:43

Beatrix is awesome. Beatrix Leia would be lovely!

Shasha17 · 15/11/2021 18:11

Beatrix and Raphaela are amazing names. Aurelia is pretty but I feel it will become very popular soon.

CatonMat · 15/11/2021 18:13

Pepper is great!
I usually like sensible names, but yes, Pepper is unexpected and fun.

AnyaMoondial · 15/11/2021 19:50

Ripley would be just fabulous.

HopefulRose · 15/11/2021 19:58

Beautiful names. Always thought Éorwen or Arwen are lovely and would work if you like LOTR

Synchrony · 15/11/2021 20:04

Raphaela! I like it with all the cool middle names.

I find Aurelia a bit awkward to say, and is forgettable amongst all the Amelia, Ariella, Annabel, Arianas that I know.

Rockmehardplace · 15/11/2021 23:10

A friends daughter has Sunshine as a middle name :)

Love Beatrix.

Kanaloa · 15/11/2021 23:24

Beatrix Ripley or Beatrix Ember would be my pick! Lovely. I’m really not keen on Aurelia but I don’t know why! Prefer Aurora by far.

Beatrix Uhura (Star Trek)
Beatrix Rey (Star Wars)
Beatrix Trinity (Maytrix) - think this would go with Raphaela too
Raphaela Aeon (Aeon Flux)
Raphaela Kara (battlestar galactica)

Fun for who?

I'm pretty certain I wouldn't want to go through life admitting to people that my parents put 'Pepper' down as my middle name on the birth certificate.

I think you have to think of your dd as an embarrassed teen, or grown woman, and see how it would 'sit' then, not just so you get a reaction when you announce the name.

DramaAlpaca · 16/11/2021 01:46

I agree with Kite22. Remember you're naming a human being who has the right to a name that doesn't cause them embarrassment in the future.

raintropics · 16/11/2021 07:01

I love Beatrix!
