Yes, really like it. You could also use Bram as a nickname.

RedHot22 · 08/11/2021 07:33

Lovely

SleafordSods · 08/11/2021 07:39

I love it too Smile

Lockdownbear · 08/11/2021 07:42

Go for it, unusual but a solid strong name.

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 08/11/2021 08:47

Love it and Abe is a gorgeous nickname

Amdone123 · 08/11/2021 09:05

I wanted it for my ds 33 years ago but wasn't brave enough. I like Abel as a nn.
I taught an Ibrahim and thought that was lovely.

toastofthetown · 08/11/2021 09:07

I like it and the nicknames Abe and Bram, but I would assume you are very religious. I prefer Abram to Abraham, as it feels less 'big'.

Not keen, personally.

Legoisthebest · 08/11/2021 10:13

My instant thought is Abe Simpson. Sorry.

RedHot22 · 08/11/2021 10:17

My instant thought was Abraham Lincoln

It’s a lovely name and Abe for short is great

Eileen101 · 08/11/2021 10:19

Lovely name. It was a contender for our dc2 before we found out that she would be a girl Grin

RedHot22 · 08/11/2021 10:21

……. Your surname isn’t Simpson or Lincoln is it? 😂

Irishfarmer · 08/11/2021 10:28

I like it, it's strong.

DooDahDah · 08/11/2021 10:34

I've got an Abraham, always known as Bram, and we've had nothing but positive comments.

He's 8 now and has started to Introduce himself as "Abraham, but you can call me Bram"Smile

If you are religious it has lovely associations, Abraham being the "father" of 3 faiths.

I think most kids own their name anyway, and if you like it go for it!

Kanaloa · 08/11/2021 10:53

It’s a nice name. I would presume an Abraham had very religious parents.

Kanaloa · 08/11/2021 10:53

Also don’t know if you were a Sunday School child but it reminds me of the song father Abraham had many sons many sons had father Abraham.

riotlady · 08/11/2021 11:00

Love it

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2021 11:07

My immediate thought was Abe Simpson. Or Abe Slaney from
Sherlock Holmes.

chayago · 08/11/2021 11:28

Love it

TheBeastReleased · 08/11/2021 11:45

I've got an Abraham too, and he gets called Abe for short. I love it.

My husband and I are both Christian (although not super religious - only go to church occasionally) but I think it's a name that works across many faiths and cultures. I've always been drawn to very biblical names and our other son also has an Old Testament name, although one that's more popular than Abraham.

RuthW · 08/11/2021 12:06

Lovely

Firebird83 · 08/11/2021 13:10

I like it. Prefer Bram to Abe though.

NewSB · 08/11/2021 13:23

It’s a beautiful name. Unusual but not made up! I also prefer Bram as a nn.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 08/11/2021 13:26

I like it. Big solid name.
