I’m not generally fond of the old lady names for the new generation, but I actually think Enid sounds cool.

Not keen. But I've heard a lot worse. Its just not a very attractive sounding name IMHO.

What about Lydia? That fits all your requirements.

Clara is lovely. Wren is going to be so common in a few years - also wrens are tiny delicate birds. Will it fit her if she's a strapping lass? For the same kind of reason I always think it's a risk with Joy, Faith, Charity, Hope etc

How about Edith, Ethel, Charlotte/Lottie, Hilda, Nelly, Margaret (if you like any of the many nicknames), Gloria, Beulah, Pauline/Paula, Gladys

I just think of Duggee's cat these days. My next cat might be Enid!

(I wouldn't give the name to a child though)

I love it. Judging by the response on here it's a bit marmite.

Love that Welsh pronunciation. But no to Enid pronounced the other way. Reminds me of Vera or Hilda. Just no.

Yeah, Wren sounds cool now but I suspect it will go the way of Gail.

I hate the name but maybe that's just because I know someone called it?

It's my friends Mum who is about 700 years old and she's absolutely doolally.
