Fallen in love with this for baby girl. Have changed my mind weekly though 🙈

I love it 🥺

Marcipex · 06/11/2021 14:03

Honestly not keen

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 06/11/2021 14:03

What is going on here today!

Enid, Myrtle, and Horace.

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:05

And Cyril!
I’ve commented on those saying how awful they are as well 😂
Baby boy would have been Arlo, baby girl has had about 127 names so far 🙈

I'm the opposite. Knew exactly what what LG would be but I mostly cook boys. I struggle the most with boy names. I've had 4 boys so far Blush

I hear Enid, I think Blyton. But actually think.it could be really cute on a little one, these "old lady" names are becoming really popular again.
Have you considered the name Edith? Similar but slightly more common now x

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:12

I like the meaning of Enid as well, spirit/life as I found out I was pregnant shortly after my mum passed away. So far she’s been everything from Olivia to Leaf so its anyone’s guess as to what will actually end up on her birth certificate Grin

I'm gently going to suggest you change your mind again.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 06/11/2021 14:14

Keep thinking OP, keep thinking Wink

MadeOfStarStuff · 06/11/2021 14:16

Don’t settle in Enid! It’s very harsh sounding

SnowyPetals · 06/11/2021 14:22

The "n" sound makes it rather a "harsh" sounding name. I agree with the PP that Edith is nicer. But if you're going old lady, personally I prefer Ivy or Esme.

KirstenBlest · 06/11/2021 14:22

It's an old welsh name pronounced ENN-id. Lovely.

Enid as in Blyton is nowhere near as nice

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:24

Not particularly looking for old lady names, just trying to find a name, any name that will stick 🤣

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/11/2021 14:25

I think it’s beautiful. Easy to pronounce, easy to spell, fits in with current trends but isn’t too popular. I love it.

Text me when she's born and I'll pick something lovely for her.

No charge.

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:26

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches I’ll hold you to that!

Ha I was just thinking the same. Enid is pretty dreadful, and I say that as someone who loves vintage names and has a DD whose name is always deemed ‘harsh-sounding’!

Yourstupidityexhaustsme · 06/11/2021 14:26

Of all the old names making a comeback I really can’t get on board with Enid. I looks and sounds very harsh.

What about Edie or Elsie?

That being said it really doesn’t matter what I think - if you like it go for it!

moofolk · 06/11/2021 14:31

Love it

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:33

@TempsPerdu what other vintage names do you like?

I want something not that unusual, no unique spellings, nothing too flowery or babyish. Not anything that can be shortened into a nickname I don’t like (like Liz for Elizabeth etc)

nzborn · 06/11/2021 14:37

Love it

viques · 06/11/2021 14:38

Pearl, Lorna, Cora, Susan, Mary, Jean, Joan, Marjorie.

Laloo4 · 06/11/2021 14:44

I know a gorgeous little Enid. I have to say I really don’t like the name though. It’s quite frumpy I think.

How about Astrid or Ingrid?

CrackerGal · 06/11/2021 14:44

I'm not too keen on Enid sorry, for other vintage names how about Wren? Or Eadie?

Finchall · 06/11/2021 14:44
