Love it too

RedRec · 02/11/2021 15:11

Really lovely.

SummaLuvin · 02/11/2021 15:18

it's a very wet and bland name, this generations Lucy.

it is very popular in it's own right, but also blends in with many other similar sounding names which make it feel really oversaturated to me - Evie, Emily, Evelyn, Ella....

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 02/11/2021 15:19

it's a bit too 'vintage twee' for me.

GuidingSpirit · 02/11/2021 15:20

It was my granny's name and would have loved it for DD but unfortunately didn't really work with DD's surname.

Bonsaibreaker · 02/11/2021 15:23

Had we not stopped at 4 DC and had a girl next Elsie was my choice.
I adore it and think it suits babies, toddlers, teens, adults, elderly.

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/11/2021 15:24

I love it.

PhiOmicron · 02/11/2021 15:28

Nothing bland about Elsie. It's brimming with character. I really loved the misunderstood middle sister Elsie in the old book, "What Katy Did."

Blubells · 02/11/2021 15:31

I find it too cutesy and nicknamey - I much prefer Elise or Elisabeth.

Roselilly36 · 02/11/2021 15:31

I love it OP. I also like Elise.

toastofthetown · 02/11/2021 15:32

I think Elsie is twee and boring. Both El- and -ie names are totally saturated at the moment so it just blends into the sea of popular names.

FrogFairy · 02/11/2021 15:34

I like it along with other “granny” names such as Connie, Sadie, Nancy etc.

trevthecat · 02/11/2021 15:35

My daughters middle name is Elsie. It was my nanas name. I love it. It was very nearly her first name, which is another grandparents name.

youngestisapsycho · 02/11/2021 15:35

It's very popular now... my Elsie is 16 and named after Elsie Tanner. It wasn't in the top 2000 when I named her.

BeKindBeYou · 02/11/2021 19:12

I love Elsie!

TatianaBis · 02/11/2021 21:16

Tanner.

Leeloo1233 · 02/11/2021 21:43

I love it! Beautiful but strong, familiar yet unique. Vintage and works internationally, everyone can pronounce it.

Also love that there are so many strong Elsie's in the history, it was a proper cool suffragete name and not to forget my favourite Downton character. Can you tell I am a fan? 😍

RestingStitchFace · 02/11/2021 22:09

I know two under 9. So growing in popularity...

DramaAlpaca · 03/11/2021 00:09

It's awful. It manages to be both frumpy and twee at the same time. Not good.

BubbleCoffee · 03/11/2021 08:24

I like it.

emmathedilemma · 03/11/2021 09:03

Love it

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 03/11/2021 15:15

Opposite of strong to me.

Lalliella · 03/11/2021 23:34

Granny name! Elise is better.

Classica · 03/11/2021 23:37

Elise is so much better. Amazing the difference switching two letters around makes. Elsie suits chonky 3 year olds from the 1930s and no one else.
