Violet, Emilia or Florence

Expecting a baby girl soon & struggling to find the perfect name. Possibilities include Violet, Emilia & Florence. Which one do you prefer? Thanks

We had Emilia as a short list, but people assumed it was spelt with an a : Amelia as the sound is almost impossible to tell the difference. Ads we didn’t want her to have to spend her whole life saying Emilia with sn E, it was dropped, so based on that I’d choose either Florence or violet. Emilia is beautiful though.

Florence always sounds to me like it has too many letters in it .. Violet is nicer and Emilia I like most but get the Amelia/Emilia thing is a drawback

It’s spelled Amelia.
There's a variation spelled Emilia, it isn't spelled incorrectly at all. Also, Amelia is a medical term for a birth defect of missing limbs, so I can understand why some might want it spelled differently.

I much prefer Violet of all your choices, OP. Florence is very popular at the moment which might put me off a little.

@Rugsofhonour, Amelia and Emilia are both correct spellings but aren't the same name.

All the names are ok, but I don't love them. Emilia is the nicest but there are so many Amelias and the two names sound similar.

It’s spelled Amelia.
Emilia is a Shakespearean name ( from "Othello"). It's not a misspelling. 😆

Emilia is OK but a bit nothingy. There are so many similar sounding names around.

Florence is the best.

Not Florence, probably my age though as think of Magic Roundabout
Emilia ok but would have assumed Amelia, prefer Amelie
