Love the names Theo and Wolfie as nicknames, but not so keen on Theodore or Wolfgang.

I do want full names - can anyone think of alternatives that would still keep Theo and Wolfie as the nicknames?

Theodolite?

Wolfsbane?

Theophilus could be the long version of Theo.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/10/2021 13:56

Theo is (imo) a standalone name now.

Wolfie- hmmmm...... William?

Well, historically, there were people called:

Theobald
Theodoric
Theophilus
Theocritus
Wolfram
Beowulf
Wulfstan
Wulfbald
Wolfe
and there's the Jazz player, Thelonious Monk (although the name is more usually spelled 'Thelonius')

But I don't know whether any are usable today.

Theo is fine on its own.

There is a Wolfie in my daughter's class, full name Wolfe.

Theoden (Lord of the Rings but sounds like a "real" name imo) and Wilfred/William Frederick (guessing "Wilfie" evolved to "Wolfie"). Or Zev is apparently a Hebrew name meaning "Wolf".

Thank you for all these!! I love Wolfe and Theobald!
