I love Athena and Lydia, not keen on the others personally.

daisypond · 24/10/2021 14:00

I like all those, except Cleo, and that’s still OK. I like Agnes but wouldn’t want Aggie, so that might put me off it.

QueenDanu · 24/10/2021 14:02

Love Lydia, not crazy about camilla but I like Camellia
Clio and Athena are nice too but clemency is awful, so is Artemis.

Agnes is nice in a french accent but you can't make non french people say it the french way. They're obviously going to say it in a harsh way.

Anya ?

MrsBungle · 24/10/2021 14:05

I love Lydia and Camilla. I really dislike your other choices.

flashpaper · 24/10/2021 14:07

I love Artemis. I wish I'd had the balls to use it myself.

Anystarinthesky · 24/10/2021 14:08

Lydia is my favourite.

Mommabear20 · 24/10/2021 14:16

Personally Lydia is the only one I'd use, but I don't hate the others, just not my personal taste.

Chachachawoo · 24/10/2021 15:07

I love Camilla and Cleo

toastofthetown · 24/10/2021 15:18

Lydia - it’s nice but a bit dull
Camilla - love Camilla, less keen on Cam or Milly though
Agnes - strongly dislike the English pronunciation
Artemis - love it
Clemency - it’s an interesting name. Not one I like, but it’s a good choice
Cleo - lovely, but worry it’s too trendy. It’s rising very sharply upwards in popularity. I also prefer the Clio spelling
Athena - not a name I’ve ever warmed to. Similar feelings on trendiness/popularity as Cleo

fmlwhatamidoing · 24/10/2021 15:25

I have a Lydia! I love that she's not in a class full of kids with the same name!

RavenclawsRoar · 24/10/2021 15:30

Ooh a lovely list!
Lydia - don't understand why this isn't more popular! Sweet, pretty and fairly classic. I think it suits a child and an adult equally.
Camilla - lovely.
Agnes - unusual but sweet.
Artemis - love this although I think it's used quite a lot for a boy's name (I know it's the name of a goddess btw!).
Clemency - least favourite, I prefer Clementine. Don't like Clemmy though which I feel it would be shortened to.
Cleo - great name, again I think it suits all ages.
Athena - beautiful.

My top choice would be either Lydia or Athena but I like them all (except Clemency).

IsThePopeCatholic · 24/10/2021 15:33

Lydia is a fab name. I’m not keen on the others.

Snog · 24/10/2021 17:24

I like them all

HereWeGoAgains · 24/10/2021 17:38

Lydia or Cleo.

CoastalWave · 24/10/2021 17:40

Lydia - got called Chlamydia at my school. #justsaying

Cleo is lovely.

itssquidstella · 24/10/2021 17:42

Oh gosh they're all lovely! Camilla, Clemency and Agnes are my favourites. Not so keen with on Artemis (but like Artemisia).

Ellmau · 24/10/2021 20:41

Lydia
Camilla
Agnes
Artemis
Clemency
Cleo
Athena

I like all of these apart from Agnes. The hard g makes it sound ugly to me.

wombwithawiew · 24/10/2021 20:44

Ooh glad the responses are mostly positive! General love for Lydia... I don't know any in real life.

I do also like Clementine. And yes I wish we were french so could pronounce Agnes that way!

Lydia - like, a bit fussy, but nice
Camilla - like, but reminds me if duchess- Camille is nice too
Agnes - meh
Artemis - no
Clemency - no
Cleo - love
Athena - love

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 24/10/2021 20:56

I really like them all apart from Agnes (too retro/hipster) and Clemency (ditto, plus nn Clem sounds horrible imo).

If you want the hipster/cool vibe, I like Cleo best.
If you want timeless classic then Lydia.
If you want classic and well known, yet underused then Camilla.
If you want classical and on the rise (yet still fairly standout) then Athena.
If you want classical but more brave/standout then Artemis .

wombwithawiew · 25/10/2021 10:21

I think we may rule out Cleo and Artemis. Maybe for middle names

BeKindBeYou · 25/10/2021 10:26

wombwithawiew · 25/10/2021 21:31
