I have become a bit of a name stats nerd recently and the positions of Arthur has really interested me!

2011 - 68th
2012 - 5th
2013 - 43rd
2014 - 37th
2015 - 37th
2016 -
2017 - 19th
2018 - 7th
2019 - 4th

It has become very popular recently, but something I have not seen with any other name is the way it shot up in 2012, to fall back down in 2013 and slowly make its way back up again!

Anyone know of a reason why 2012 was so popular for Arthur?

The stats I've found said Arthur was 52nd in 2012 (darkgreener name tracking site)

From what I can see it was actually Jacob that was number 5 in 2012

DS1 was born 2011 and DS2 is 2013. I distinctly remember going to see the film "Arthur Christmas" with a tiny DS1, and there are quite a few Arthurs we know around DS2's age...

Weirdly though, I can't think of a single Jacob in either of their classes (or the one between!)

That's exactly what happened to me. In 1997 I wouldn't choose a name in the top 100. 12 years later a famous person used it. It's now in the top 15.
