Endeavour?

This is my dream name for a boy, don’t worry I’m like 3-5 years off having children, so not going to saddle a child with it anytime soon and maybe not at all.

Yes I am an Inspector Morse fan.

My step mum is a fan of endeavour so maybe I’m being encouraged lol.

It's quite a ... brave choice.

It would be tricky for a small child to learn to spell.

I’m a huge Morse fan, but I could never quite convince myself that I liked his name. Endeavour just doesn’t feel like a name to me. But I would absolutely use it as a middle name! Middle names are seldom used, so I like the idea of them being a bit bonkers, or somehow related to the parents’ passions. My daughter is named after the heroine from one of Morse’s favourite operas (I didn’t mention the Morse connection to DP, who, inexplicably, is not a fan). I think I’d like a small society of people who have children with Morse inspired names, and we can all nod at each other in mutual understanding. I once dreamt I had a baby boy and named him Beaumont, like the (only fictional) Oxford college referred to in Morse.

Was on my list for a second boy. I liked Emerance for a girl.

Mn is not the place to ask about names that are not top 100. But I'd rather hear of an Endeavour than anything that makes the top 100.

It's definitely out there and different but honestly not bad. Could always use it as a middle name.

I think it's a great name!
A change from Teddy.

Thesearmsofmine · 19/10/2021 15:21

I like the sound of it as a middle name, I wouldn’t use it as a first name.

You're naming a child, not a ship
