  1. Juliet
  2. Rose
  3. Freya
  4. Robin
Actually love all of these! Great choices.
  1. Zachary (like this a lot more than the others)
  2. Jude
  3. Rowan
  4. Finn
toastofthetown · 15/10/2021 21:18

Juliet - lovely, my favourite of your girls names
Freya - so popular and a bit insipid sounding
Robyn - I love Robin for boy, not keen for a girl regardless of spelling
Rose - very nice as a first name. Done to death a a middle name

Rowan - love it
Finn - popular, but it is a nice name
Zachary - it’s fine, doesn’t excite me but it’s solid
Jude - it’s ok. For a single syllable name I prefer Finn

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/10/2021 21:18
  1. Juliet (gorgeous and elegant)
  2. Rose (so classic)
-gap-
  1. Freya (lovely sound but a bit trendy)
  2. Robyn (dislike the spelling)
  1. Rowan (fairly popular at the moment but very lovely)
  2. Zachary (okay - don't like or dislike)
  • gap-
  1. Finn (nice enough but too trendy)
  2. Jude (reminds me of rude, nude and Judas, sorry)
alpinerain · 15/10/2021 21:28

I love Juliet, Rose and Finn.

ohdeerdolly · 15/10/2021 21:56

I love Juliet but dp prefers Robyn.

Boys names I'm totally torn on. Love Finn but we do know a few already.

Juliet is lovely. Definitely favourite girl name. There's quite a lot of Ro... names popular at the moment so I'd pick Juliet over Robyn.
For boys I like all your names. Rowan is my baby girls name so it's a girl name to me but appreciate it's unisex. In my opinion the negatives about the name Rowan are that it's too similar sounding to Roman which is the fastest rising boy name so I get a bit fed up with people getting confused or mishearing. I probably know about 5 baby Romans, so was not surprised to hear it's the fastest rising boy name. I also don't like seemingly inevitable shortening to Row which is happening already even when I've asked for it not to, just seems to get naturally shortened which I hadn't anticipated.

foxgoosefinch · 15/10/2021 23:55

I love Juliet and Robyn; Rose is nice and classic and neutral; I personally don’t much like Freya - it’s a bit overused and a teeny bit dated IMO (in my mental map I’d put it with names that were very fashionable about 10-15 years ago).

Namechangedforthethousandthtim · 16/10/2021 04:07

Girls names:

Juliet - lovely, very pretty. 8/10
Freya - a little boring and overdone, but pretty sound. 4/10
Robyn - cute! 6/10
Rose - beautiful. 9/10

Boys names:

Rowan - nice sound, but overdone, will date badly. 4/10
Finn - again, nice sound, but also overdone, will date badly. I think every baby boy I know who was born this year was a Finn. 4/10
Zachary - strong, biblical. I like it. 8/10
Jude - while it's very popular, I hope it's biblical roots will stop it dating badly. It's a nice name. 6/10

Kanaloa · 16/10/2021 04:15

Juliet - 9/10. So nice and quite underused.
Freya - 7/10. Nice, quite popular where I live.
Robyn - 4/10. Hate it on a boy, think it’s so so on a girl.
Rose - 6/10. Nice name, everyone’s middle name.

Rowan - 4/10. Just don’t like.
Finn - 6/10. Okay name.
Zachary - 9/10. Strong and not over popular, also like Zac.
Jude - 7/10. Okay, reminds me of Hey Jude which I hate for no reason.

Onlinedilema · 16/10/2021 08:34

In order:
Juliet
Rose
Freya
Robyn

Zachary
Jude
Finn
Rowan

CaffiSaliMali · 16/10/2021 10:28

Juliet
Rose
Freya
Robyn

Juliet and Rose are gorgeous under used classics. Freya is nice but very popular and has a trendier feel. Robyn is fine but not to my taste.

Zachary
Rowan
Finn
Jude

All of your boys names are nice. Rowan and Jude feel quite trendy in particular. Zachary/Zach is my favourite.

KirstenBlest · 16/10/2021 14:26

Juliet 2
Freya 4
Robin 1
Rose 3

Boys names:

Rowan 1
Finn 3
Zachary 1
Jude - thoroughly dislike

secretbookcase · 16/10/2021 14:34

1.Robyn - love it. Cute and elegant

  1. Freya - love the meaning - could be a great middle name
3.Rose - classic but a bit plain
  1. Juliet - less keen on this one. Feels a bit precious, and the famous one came to a very sad end!
  1. Zachary - excellent name
  2. Jude - OK
  3. Rowan - is more of a girl's name in my mind (unfair as I know it's unisex)
  4. Finn - not so keen.
WinterCarlisle · 16/10/2021 14:35

Rose and Rowan are my favourites. Beautiful names

wingsofabird · 16/10/2021 15:08

Lovely lists of names. I like Juliet, Zachary and Finn best.
Jude is nice too and a safe choice.

Rowan I had on my list for my daughter - all the Rowan's I know are girls. Just before she was born though about 5 close friends had baby boys called RoMan with an M. I just didn't want the confusion now RoMan leaps up the charts each year. Shame. Didn't know any RoMans until a few years ago. I do think Roman and Rowan will date badly as they're so trendy and I'm relieved I didn't use as I also don't like nickname Row.

EleanorRedFox · 16/10/2021 15:09

Favourites are Juliet and Finn Smile

Darkdarknights · 16/10/2021 15:10

Juliet and Jude are best.

TempsPerdu · 16/10/2021 15:46

Juliet is definitely the standout choice from your girls’ options. Beautiful, elegant name and not currently overused, although I can see its popularity increasing as many friends have recently considered it for DDs (some have used it but always in middle spot so far).

Other girls’ choices all nice enough but more run of the mill than Juliet.

Agree with pps about Rowan being trendy and likely to date. It’s DD’s middle name - I’d loved it for years and it was a strong contender for her first name but I’m really glad we didn’t go with it now given the ubiquity of all the Ro- names at the moment. I’d go with Jude out of your remaining options - there seem to be fewer of them around than your other names, although they’re all fairly popular.

Darceyhemingway · 16/10/2021 20:28

Juliet- this has really grown on me lately I think it's so beautiful
Freya- I used to love this but every other child's called it now
Robyn- I like this

Rose- think it's very drab but nice for a
Middle name

Rowan- not a fan

Finn- I like this
Zachary- don't like
Jude- maybe my fave out of the boys

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 16/10/2021 20:50
  1. Juliet is lovely. Despite not normally being a fan of alternate spellings I like Juliette as well.
  2. Rose is also lovely. Overused as a middle name, but lovely nonetheless.
  3. Freya is ok. It's fairly popular and I don't love it.
  4. Robyn is not great. Robin for a boy is good but I don't like it for girls.
  1. Zachary is great. Was on my boy shortlist.
  2. Rowan is ok. I don't love it though.
  3. Finn is way over popular
  4. Personally I don't like Jude as a boys name at all. I know a woman called Judith who goes by Jude. That seems to work better tbh.
FWBNC · 16/10/2021 20:56

2.Juliet
4 Freya (last because they one I know is a proper little shite, puts me off the name)
1. Robyn (but with an i, common in girls now, not just for boys by a long way!!
3.Rose

Boys names:

Rowan
1.Finn
2.Zachary (but just Zach)
Jude

Don't like the other two -sorry.

But whatever you choose will be fine & it will be 'just them' because they'll make it theirs

Rrrob · 16/10/2021 20:57

Robyn
Juliet
Freya
Rose

Zachary
Finn
Jude
Rowan

Yika · 16/10/2021 20:59

I like all your names. Robyn would be my choice among your girl names as it's slightly more unusual and I like the nature connotations. The boys' names are a wee bit overused to my taste but they are all nice names.

ohdeerdolly · 17/10/2021 11:50

I did wonder about Rowan dating but then there's Rowan Atkinson...!
