Girls name help

Purpletulip89 · 15/10/2021 15:48

Hello! In need of some girls name help please. I feel opposite to most posters on these threads as I love boys names but find girls names so hard! We have however recently found out we are having a baby girl which is exciting, but after going through what feels like every girls name in the ONS data we still can’t find one we like. To give an idea of our ‘style’ some that appeal but I’m not sure we’d use are:

Bryony
Alannah
Marnie
Roxanna
Violet

Any suggestions based on these? I think I like something slightly unusual but not unheard of. Possibly a longer name with nickname options. Thank you!!

Love Bryony!! Or how about Leonie? Naomi?

Purpletulip89 · 15/10/2021 19:47

Thank you for all the responses and suggestions so far, all really helpful. There’s definitely some names there I’ll add to my list, although I’m not sure if any are ‘the one’.

It’s nice to see Marnie getting such a positive response as that is probably my favorite. My only issue with that is it feels like it should be short for something! But I’m not sure what?

Tamsin, Heidi?

I do quite like Tamsin, adding that to the list thanks!

Bryony -yes
Alannah - ok
Marnie - it’s short for Margaret. I wouldn’t use it as a full name, but it’s good as a short form. And there’s Hitchcock too, which puts me off.
Roxanna - yes
Violet - no.
