Another couple struggling with boy names:

DHs ideas:
William
Oliver - nice names but both too common/ordinary for me πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
Aiden - strong contender for middle name but an old family friend on my side makes it weird for a first name.

My suggestions:
Scott
Quinn
Luca
Felix

Felix Aiden is lovely. Watch that your surname doesnt spell FAT or FAG or something else that could be laughed at.

I like that too, would be FAW so ok I think?

Adding Rafe to my list..

I love Quinn and Luca. I also quite like Oliver and Felix.

Felix is a lovely name, but I have noticed that is becoming more and more common popular

Sittinginthesand · 13/10/2021 17:18

There are lots of little felixes atm!

A primary school teacher once told me that as soon as they hear the name Felix, they instantly think over indulged trouble-maker with impossible parents.. just saying!

Laloo4 · 13/10/2021 17:38

Love Felix! Quinn, Luca and Rafe are also really nice.

Your teacher friend is an idiot. Who assumes a child they've not yet met is a troublemaker? I never prejudged any child by their name when I was teaching.

I think Felix is a lovely name. I think it means happy. What could be nicer than that?

Felix is a well known cat food brand in the uk.

Quinn and Rafe are lovely!

Sorry I thought @CorpusCallosum said she was naming a baby not a cat 🐱
CorpusCallosum · 15/10/2021 12:24

@myheartskippedabeat πŸ˜‚

We are UK and well familiar with the brand of cat food. We even buy it occasionally 😼😸 but doesn't put me off as a baby name πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I'm getting keener on Felix Aiden but DH has started giving me this look --> 🀨 when we talk about it so maybe he was just appeasing me when he said he liked it 😫

Speaking as someone who named baby the same name as various family members, if you did go for Aiden, it would quickly become his own name and the other association would fade. Unless the family friend is creepy and you don't want him to feel complimented!

CorpusCallosum · 15/10/2021 12:41

Family friend is less of a friend and more very long standing workman whose last job was sub par and things have been a bit dark-clouds since. If there were a few more years between that and now I think it'd be fine but there's not so here we are at weirdness.

Felix is nice....my daughters friend wanted to call her DS Felix 5 years ago and ending up β€˜going safe’ ( in her words) with Harry..... she still regrets not calling him Felix
