The triplets are due October 12th we have the names ready Tobi Michael, Holly Marie and August but we’re struggling on a middle name for August. We liked David but August David is quite a mouthful to say.

Our surname is Oscar. Thanks in advance x

Are these real children or is it a game? I will suggest a middle name beginning with M to go with the other two, to give them a link.

Me and the OH asked our close family members what they thought of our name choices (which we weren’t planning to do until they were born!)
After speaking to my SIL she thought of the name Dylan (named after my late brother) We thought this was the best idea!
We’ve decided on the name Dylan Matthew!

That is a million times better!!

FolornLawn · 05/10/2021 06:32

SIL has saved the day!

LublinToDublin · 05/10/2021 06:39

Dylan is a great choice!
Good luck with everything over the next few weeks - and beyond. SmileFlowers

I agree with your sister in-law!
Great name

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 05/10/2021 06:52

Well done SIL!

trama · 05/10/2021 06:57

Please spell Toby properly. You'll save him a lifetime of having to correct people.

Icequeen01 · 05/10/2021 06:59

Phew! So much better!

I still think you should consider spelling Tobi with a Y. Otherwise he's going to suffer a lifetime of having his name spelt incorrectly.

Icequeen01 · 05/10/2021 06:59

Sorry cross post 😀

Teflondreams · 05/10/2021 07:01

Dylan Matthew is lovely.
I would either go for Tobias or Toby on the birth certificate personally as I don’t think the unusual spelling Tobi looks as good.

DotsandCo · 05/10/2021 07:12

Agree 100% with either Tobias or TobY with a Y. You'll (he) will have a lifetime of correcting the spelling and receiving post/messages with an incorrectly spelt name. And it just looks naff 🤷‍♀️ Tobias is lovely!

I've never understood this 'trend' for try-hard quirky spelling of a name...it's just weird!

HandScreen · 05/10/2021 07:27

Oi

RupertOscar1999 · 05/10/2021 10:43

His full name will be Tobit!

Dylan is lovely but, it can be a lot being named after a recently deceased person (ie not a grandparent)

Tobi does read as a girls name.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 05/10/2021 10:50

@RupertOscar1999

His full name will be Tobit!
Why?????
astoundedgoat · 05/10/2021 10:51

Oh I like Tobit. Solid apocryphal name - haven't heard it used in modern times at all!

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 05/10/2021 10:53

Even if Tobit is a name, why would you inflict it on your child Tobias is a much nicer name and the nickname is TobY not TobI so there is really no need to spell it Tobi

SoupDragon · 05/10/2021 10:54

We’ve decided on the name Dylan Matthew!

Great name and a lovely reason.

Tobit

He's going to spend a fair amount of time correcting that from Toby Toscar.

Blubells · 05/10/2021 11:23

Tobit is a well known Hebrew name.

Rockmehardplace · 05/10/2021 13:10

Dylan Michael

Thank god for that! Auggie Oscar would have been horrendous, especially with siblings called Toby & Holly!

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 05/10/2021 13:25

@Blubells

Tobit is a well known Hebrew name.
Is it well known outside the Jewish community? Just saying, just because a name is traditional doesn't make it nice. Tobit, Dylan and Holly?? Do you really think they go?
Tal45 · 05/10/2021 13:36

Dylan and Holly are lovely - perhaps you could ask SIL for some inspiration for the third? Tobit the Hobbit is all I can think of.

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 05/10/2021 21:13

Makes me think of the expression ' two bit', meaning worthless
