Hi...struggling to decide on Annie's sisters name. Any suggestions/ideas welcome! Rosie is a contender...but is is to twee/popular? Also like Pippa, Maggie and Juliet. Thanks!

I like them all apart from Pippa.

If you go with Maggie - I would put Margaret on the BC to give her choices when older.

I know twins called Zena and Annie so that sounds right to me.

I love all the names you listed. Juliet would have to be my favourite. I really like Pippa but it does sound a bit more like a pets name.

Tess, Scarlet, Penelope, Bella

Pippa and Rosie are nice

Not Rosie and Annie together (too much 'ee' sound). Rose would be OK.
Your other 3 suggestions all great (but do consider putting full versions on the birth certificate and for school so it is not a pet's name, i.e. Philippa, Margaret etc).

Annie and Betsy.

Annie and Pippa go the best together

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 02/10/2021 20:12

Pippa and Maggie as given names aren't really my taste - but I love Juliet.

Something like Nell or May would also work well with Annie - fellow retro style nn's (but without another ie ending). Rose would also be nice (as it can also be a nn for Rosemary etc) but Rosie is a bit cutesy with Annie to me.

My little girl is called Rosie. I just think it’s a pretty name and it just felt right.
I would pick Rosie but then again I am very biased!

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 03/10/2021 02:03

Rosie, Maggie and Juliet are all lovely. I'd probably pick Juliet so as not to have too ee ending names.

Dislike Pippa because of its lewd meaning in other countries. May not matter to other people and that's absolutely fine, but every time I watch Call My Agent and see that the actress who plays Camille is called Fanny, I feel a bit sorry for her.

two not too
