I really like your girls names. I like Naomi and Jasmine the most.
For boys I think I like Elijah best. Rowan is my baby girl's name so it's a girl name in my head but I know in reality it's unisex. More commonly used for girls in Scotland though but more common for boys in England still at the moment. We'll see if that changes. The negatives are that it gets shortened to Row a lot, which I hate. Sounds like rowing a boat. Also Roman with an M is the fastest rising boy name so I get a bit fed up with people mishearing Rowan's name as Roman and irritated there are a couple of Romans in the nursery group and nct class. Very different names until they're sat right next to each other.

@bloominglovelyorange

Thank you! I think Naomi is my favourite girl's name. DH likes Elijah the best out of the boys names with a nickname of Eli which I do like but not 100% sure I love! Ahh Rowan is so lovely, I have met both a boy and a girl called Rowan, when I suggested it to DH as a boy's name he did say "isn't that a girl's name?' but he did like it in general. Now I've thought about it more I do think I'd happily use Rowan for a boy or a girl Smile

Other suggestions:

@mairiflowers
When I was younger I had 2 friends called Jasmine, one was never shortened and the other was sometimes shortened to Jas/Jazz. I don't mind Jazz but don't like Jazzy! Thanks for your suggestions, absolutely love Jesse!!

Issac and grace.

Boys:
Isaac LOVE
Rowan - strongly dislike, too faddy
Leo - like very much
Elijah - LOVE

Girls:
Grace - pretty but overdone. How about Hope, Faith, Joy?
Naomi - Love it
Jasmine/Ruby - for some reason Jasmine and Ruby seem a bit naff to me. Maybe because there were so many of them when I was at school? They seem a bit dated.

Some lovely biblical classics here, I'd choose Naomi and Elijah/Isaac for sure. If you like OT names, how about
Isaiah
Phineas
Caleb
Reuben
Esther
Lydia

If you like softer biblical names like Jesse and Eli/Elijah (which are both fab) bow about also Seth, Jude, Amos, Gabriel?

autumn321 · 30/09/2021 20:56

@Balonzette thanks for your help! It seems like Naomi is a firm favourite and the more I think about it the more I love it. I really like Caleb, Reuben and Jude from your suggestions.

Leo and Ruby are my faves from that list!

Leo Isaac and Ruby Jasmine would be sweet :)

I like your girls’ names. I much prefer Rowan for a girl. I wouldn’t use it for a boy. I’m not so keen on your boys’ names. Leo is fine, but Isaac and Elijah seem a bit dated to me in style. That Old Testament style of name is very 1990s. I’m not sure Elijah shortens to Eli. Isn’t Eli a different OT name in its own right?

My favourite girl name from your list is Naomi & Jasmine.

From your boy list, I like Leo & Isaac
