Hey, everyone! We’re writing down our options for baby #2! Our first little one is called Amalia and we have been thinking of a few names for her little sister.
The only other name we ever considered for Amalia was Maja, but we both agree that Amalia and Maja are just a bit too close só we’re not using that. So we’re thinking Anja or Tally and would LOVE to hear your opinions.
We love Anya with Y, we don’t really like it with an I but my husband is Scandinavian, so he’ll go for J over Y and, honestly, so will I. So we’re thinking Anja.
We thought of Taylor, to honor my mum (whose name is Thais), but we’re not into the fact that’s gender neutral as we already go for gender neutral middle names and so, we thought of Tally. I first thought of Tali, but in the end we both decided we like Tally best. Close to Scylla too, which I always loved but there’s a TV series going on now where there’s a character named Scylla, played by an actress named Amalia and that made me give up on that one for the time being lol Talia is a no for us, by the way.
I think both are close enough to Amalia in a way that Anja has the same initial and Tally the same “Ali” sound, but we don’t think it’s as close as Maja. Our surname isn’t very common, it’s two-syllables and rhymes with “horn” and I’d love to hear your opinions on this.
Also, if anyone has any other ideas, we’re open to hearing them but mostly would like to know which one you’d choose and, if possible, why.
Thank you.
