Thoughts on Libby as a nickname?

Nicknames can be anything! They tend to evolve naturally. You certainly don't need mumsnetters approving imo.

A nickname for Elizabeth, you mean? I love it. It's SO much nicer than all the other variations - Liz, Lizzy, Beth, Bette, etc.

(May be biased because I have a lovely friend called Libby. But that's the name on her actual birth certificate it isn't a nickname/ shortening of Elizabeth.)

I love it as a nickname, and it reminds me of a very gentle and sweet friend I had at Primary School. Her full name was Liberty, rather than Elisabeth.

Love it

Like it a lot.

Fine as a nickname, but I know two people where it is their full name. One in reception currently and one in her mid-forties!

Liberty? Lovely name.

Libby for Liberty? Yep!
