I'm wavering now

For our second boy I suggested Cameron, I absolutely loved it.
(We are in Scotland and our first is Arthur).
My husband came round to it and was totally set on it and started referring to baby as Cameron
But now the more he said it, it just doesn't feel right. I have no idea why I have gone off it.

I asked him to consider other names and I've been suggesting a fair amount but he says no to them
I think he just has Cameron set in his mind.
He told me last night that he suggested Albert, Malcolm and another name I've forgotten but I don't like Malcolm..I did say I quite liked Albert to which DH told me I apparently said I hated it when he first suggested it a few months ago🤦

So Albert or Cameron....what would you choose?!

I like Albert and think it goes nicely with Arthur

GoodnightGrandma · 13/09/2021 11:14

Definitely not Malcolm.
And a Prince Albert is a penis piercing, so no from me.
What else have you got ?

GiveIrelandBackToTheIrish · 13/09/2021 11:15

Cameron 100%

Aquamarine1029 · 13/09/2021 11:16

What about Camden?

Cleverpolly3 · 13/09/2021 11:16

Not keen on any to be honest

Are you open to other suggestions?

SummaLuvin · 13/09/2021 11:16

I don't really like alliterative names for siblings, so Arthur and Albert doesn't work for me. That being said Albert is a great name, I love the nickname Bertie, and it isn't sonically that similar to Arthur. Just expect confusion in later years with letters for Mr A. XXXXXX.

I dislike the name Cameron, not sure why, but to me there is something very unappealing about it.

At this point you are probably best waiting to see what feels right after the birth. You might see the baby and just know which name suits them.

MajorNeville · 13/09/2021 11:18

Cameron over the other suggestions, by a country mile.

headintheproverbial · 13/09/2021 11:23

What about Russell or Angus or Monroe

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 11:30

Good point about the confusion on receiving post!

Yes definitely open to more.

I like Benjamin but DH has so many Ben friends he's not too sure about naming his child that although he does like it.

I don't like Angus or Russell but I do like Monroe. DH won't though.
I suggested Macaulay this morning but there's been radio silence 🤣

Yes maybe we will have to see the baby first to make a decision. It's so hard!

George

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 11:33

Yes quite like George @GoodnightGrandma but the only thing is that's the name of my grandad and he can be...difficult. that's the only thing that's putting me off cause actually I think Arthur and George go quite well. I just don't want my family to be like "oh here we go another difficult George"

Rufus?

toastofthetown · 13/09/2021 11:45

I prefer Albert to every one of the other names thrown around (except Malcolm, which you don’t like). While I wouldn’t target alliterative names for siblings, if it’s the only other name that I agreed on, then I’d probably go for it anyway.

Synchrony · 13/09/2021 12:48

Much prefer Cameron. How about Conan?

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 12:49

The other name I like is Elliot. But DH doesn't think it's strong..

OP posts:
JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 12:49

No not Rufus not keen on that

Cameron is nice and Cam reminds me of the character from Modern Family.

Or how about Calvin?

emmathedilemma · 13/09/2021 13:04

I quite like Cameron but it doesn't feel like it goes with Arthur for me and it seems a bit dated by comparison. Are you also ok with Cammie as a nn as everyone I know in Scotland gets that?
Arthur & Edward
Arthur & George
Arthur & Henry
Arthur & Patrick
Arthur & Rory or Ruaridh

Listener2021 · 13/09/2021 13:07

Robert (Robbie) or Rufus?

makinganavalon · 13/09/2021 13:07

Arthur and Lachlan?

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:08

Arthur and Albert would be a definite no for me.

Cameron is good.

Ben is nice, particularly as it means younger son / brother.

Elliot is very good.

How about Fraser?

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:08

Or Alasdair

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:09

Arthur and Robert is also good, per a pp

Amdone123 · 13/09/2021 13:10

I like Cameron, too. And I think it goes with Arthur better than another old name if that makes sense.
Elliot is lovely, as is Ellis.
