Bodan for a boy?

Anyone heard of anyone called this name? The stress is on the second syllable - BoDAN. Thoughts?

It sounds like you really like Boden. It's an unusual name, if that's important to you.

Everyone will just think it's Boden. And pronounced Bo-Dan sounds like a weird hyphenated name.

You don't have to go along with it! One year olds don't get to tell you what their name is. Children often do this. They want to be called Bing or Thomas. It's just pretending.

You must remind him of this regularly throughout his teenage years.

I was actually in a shop on Saturday where a Dad was talking to his toddler and calling him Bodan. My first thought at the time was 'oh they've called him after the clothing brand!'

I've just remembered that DD tried to change her name to Aladdina when she was small.

Spoken it will sound a lot like Bogan which if you travel to Australia would not be a great name to have, it has connotations of being dumb, loutish behaviour, lower class type thing.
