i really dont want to name him something basic like john (srry if ur name is john lovely name lol) but nothing too out there either. does anyone have any suggestions??

When you say unusual do you mean 'weird, modern, out-there', or uncommon.

Norman is very, very uncommon, but quite normal. However, far more rare than Jasper, Zander, Magnus, and Conrad all suggested above.
