Which do you prefer? I know they're not to everyone's tastes but if you had to choose?

Cassius (nn Cass)
Raphael (nn Rafe)

For me the name Cassius, has the link to Muhammad Ali, when he described it as his 'slave name', so I couldn't go for that.

I love the name Raphael. I might pinch it if I ever have a boy. Cassius is pretty cool too

I like both, but prefer Raphael. Cass is nicer than Rafe to me though.

Just ignore @Mybalconyiscracking. Raphael is comfortably in the top 200 names and Cassius, though more unusual (just within top 300) is rising quite sharply. Pretty normal names really and I can't see why they wouldn't be sensible.

If you are asking for advice on naming a child you will have ruled out all the sensible names. 😉 How it may affect the child in later lifer is of no concern.

Raphael is a beautiful, strong biblical name, Cassius is lovely - Roman as well as Shakespearean, so I think your criticisms are bizarre. It's not like they're made up names. Both are strong and dignified with a long history.

Prefer Cassius, and is more unusual - although I like Cassian best.
