Do you like the name Vivienne nn Vivi? How to you say it? Enne or uhn?

I love the name and nn but the pronunciation is ambiguous with that spelling.

Vivienne should be Viv-I-enn but plenty of people will like say Viv-I-uhn.

The alternative spelling is Vivian which is definitely said Viv-I-uhn.

I’m not keen. Vivienne has the stress on the —enne at the end. Most people will pronounce it wrongly. Vivi does always make me think of vivisection, so not pleasant.

Pretty Woman......

It just makes me think of pretty woman if I'm honest though her peers obviously wouldn't have that connection.

I love the name but my DH has vetoed it due to pretty woman connotations sadly. For me it reminds me of Vivian leigh

There was one at school......she had perfect handwriting, and her mother said she was so clever because she ate a lot of fish. At parties she always asked for piece of cake 'to take home for Mummy'.

It's not my taste - a bit frilly unless you have French heritage (I prefer simple Vivien, the same way I prefer Isabel to Isabelle). I'd pronounce it with the emphasis on the "enne" though.

I’d pronounce it enne at the end - and prefer it to Vivien as I like that sound better. I think it will probably overtake the Vivien / uhn version.

I really like it with the -enne ending and sound. I think it’s very pretty.

I think it's different and lovely and like the spelling Vivienne.

I would, however, pronounce it just the same as Vivian/Vivien.
