Hi all!

My OH and I can't seem to settle on a little girl's name. We have a ton we like but are totally open to new suggestions.

Our front-runner was Ivy, however a friend recently said it's getting extremely popular with 5 in her nursery class alone. This puts us off.

Our other top names are:

Marlie
Oaklie
Haven
Noa

Do you have any other similar suggestions? Or maybe a unique name you haven't heard much!

TIA x

Noa and Mahlah are two cool Old Testament sisters, I love the name Noa for this reason, and Mahlah is close to Marlie (and far less used). I don't like Oaklie or Haven.

Judging by your taste, I'd recommend:
Alba
Liv
Alma
Seren
Nova
Juno
Iris
Juniper
Lumi
Clover
Fern

I would go with Ivy.

Noshowwithoutpunch · 22/08/2021 12:06

Noa is lovely.

Orangestarfish · 22/08/2021 12:10

Ivy is lovely. I know one aged 3. How about Iris or Iona?

I think Marlie, Oaklie and Haven are all dreadful and sound a bit made up, sorry. Haven reminds me of the holiday parks.

Noa is sweet. How about Nia, Neneh or Nora / Norah?

I think Cleo is lovely. Or Mabli (Welsh Mabel, meaning loveable), Cerys / Carys (Welsh, meaning love)

Meera / Mira?
Hazel?
Sylvie / Sylvia?

I love all your names with Ivy and Noa being my favourites!

Some ideas: Indie, Sage, Wren, Alaska, Ivory, Sky & Winter

I live Marley (spelt like that). I would also suggest Miley.

How about: -

Bryony
Saffron
Fern
Kaye
Faye
Pamela
Paloma
Dulcie
Beatrix
Hope

Good luck finding something you love. Smile Flowers

MissBPotter · 22/08/2021 14:09

Marnie rather than the made up seeming marlie? Or orla rather than oaklie (sorry I hate those made up ie spellings!). Noa and Haven are much better though some might be reminded of the caravan parks with Haven!

35andThriving · 22/08/2021 15:45
  • love, obviously not live.
OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 22/08/2021 17:22

Olive…trendy but not too common!

Lotsalotsagiggles · 22/08/2021 20:21

Nola?

LynseyLoses · 22/08/2021 20:53

Some lovely suggestions on here. I love nature names, so especially love Fern and Olive.

How about Hazel, Autumn or Willow?

I like Noa on your list. Very cool.

There is also Nia which is Welsh, I think. I knew a gorgeous Welsh Nia.

I prefer Marnie to Marlie as well.

Noa - I would think it was Noah and a boy (sorry)
Haven - Haven holiday parks (sorry)
Oaklie - sounds like a boys name to me (sorry)

Suggestions:
Esme
Bette
Maisie
Rosa
Verity
Rowena
Kitty
Merle

Happenchance · 22/08/2021 22:43

I only like Noa from your list.

I can imagine the pervy comments that could be directed at someone called Haven.

Other suggestions:
Morgan
Hadley
Romy
Mirren
Josie
Mallory
Carly
