Not due until late December / very early Jan but we simply can't agree on a name! His big sister is an Ivy.

Middle name will be Jon after DPs dad. We've narrowed the list to:

Arthur
Alfred
Sydney (spelt with a y to honour his great grandad)
Emery (I'm not keen)
Wilfred

We just can't agree at all. Im not bothered about popularity of names. I'm not keen on Alfred as DP likes Alfie for a nickname and I dont, and I like Freddie as a nickname and DP doesn't Grin Help!!

Love Sydney and Wilfred x

Amdone123 · 07/08/2021 21:49

I love Sydney and Wilfred too.
Ivy and Will. How cute is that.

35andThriving · 07/08/2021 22:22

I like them all except for Emery.

Kollamoolitumarellipawkyrollo · 07/08/2021 22:28

I only really like Wilfred-Wilf and Fred/Freddie are great.

DotDotDotDotDot · 07/08/2021 22:55

Could you use Frederick, nickname Freddie then if you’re not keen on Alfred? Arthur is good too, as you say you don’t mind about popularity.

DramaAlpaca · 07/08/2021 23:11

I only like Arthur.

Not Emery, God no. Awful.

How about Stanley.

roadwarrior · 07/08/2021 23:11

Sydney is nice

IndiaMay · 07/08/2021 23:17

Like Sydney and Wilfred

Would you like Stanley / Edwin (Ted) / Emerson

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 08/08/2021 00:02

Arthur or Wilfred are both lovely!

MinnieJackson · 08/08/2021 00:49

Sydney is lovely

Marty13 · 08/08/2021 02:18

I love Arthur the most out of your list.

Not keen on Alfred/Wilfred and Sydney.

Emery is okay.

It looks like a lot of the names you like are trending now so maybe look in a top hundred listing ?

NessieMcNessface · 08/08/2021 05:09

We have an Arthur so I’m biased as I obviously love the name.

zeromango · 08/08/2021 09:55

Thank you everyone! Definitely leaning mostly towards Arthur at this point in time, and no nicknames to bicker about either with that name Grin

I like Arthur the best too Smile

Love Arthur Sydney and Wilfred - 3 of my favourite names
I think you have such a lovely list I really don't want to suggest any other names

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/08/2021 18:26

Arthur works very well with Ivy imo - both trendy, vintage style names. I do have a soft spot for Alfred and Wilfred too but they are probably not worth the risk if your DP really dislikes Fred/Freddie. Not keen on Sydney or Emery, sorry.

Someone with a boy called Arthur that I know, shortens it to Arth which sound like the noise a seal makes.
