Too much?

Hi,

I love the name Harry (not keen on Harrison so that’s not an option) but his surname will be Rowles (pronounced rolls). Is Harry Rowles too much of a mouthful?

Any opinions are appreciated!

Thank you 🥰

I think Harry Rowles sounds fine!

MrsFin · 03/08/2021 23:06

Not a mouthful at all! It's a fine name.
What is it about it that you don't like?

ALR2 · 03/08/2021 23:33

Thanks for the reply @FadoFado.

@MrsFin I just don’t know if it has too many ‘r’ sounds in it close together 🤦‍♀️

It sounds fine in my accent (Irish).
You could do Harvey or Harold if you wanted a longer name that separates out the 'r's.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/08/2021 23:46

Sounds fine to me.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 03/08/2021 23:48

Yeah sounds fine to me too...

daisypond · 03/08/2021 23:50

It sounds fine to me. You could go for Henry, which is less R-y.

Elspethelf · 04/08/2021 02:58

I think it works. I don't love Harrison either but I do like Haris. Perhaps that is an alternative if you want to break up the r's

Maggiesfarm · 04/08/2021 03:43

I think it sounds very nice.

ozzyfroggy · 04/08/2021 04:16

Hairy balls Hmm

I agree with you about the R issue.

Violetlavenders · 04/08/2021 07:23

Some people struggle with their Rs. In that case it might be difficult to pronounce

CherryMaple · 04/08/2021 07:41

I really like the name Harry, but I do think there are too many Rs.

sarah13xx · 04/08/2021 07:55

I don’t think it’s too much at all

Queenoftheashes · 04/08/2021 08:11

My name also has that “ra rah” sequence and it is hard to say and annoying.

Queenoftheashes · 04/08/2021 08:12

Although Harry has a Y rather than ah at the end so actually it is easier to say

PostMenWithACat · 04/08/2021 08:13

Too many R's for me.

bloominglovelyorange · 04/08/2021 09:23

Lovely name

whatausername · 04/08/2021 10:20

It's fine

Greenmarmalade · 04/08/2021 10:40

It’s great

TatianaBis · 04/08/2021 10:46

Too many Rs.

allyouneedisconnection · 04/08/2021 12:03

Another vote for too many r sounds

MrsEricBana · 04/08/2021 12:07

It's fine.

RuthW · 04/08/2021 12:19

I struggle to say it. Maybe Henry instead.

DotBall · 04/08/2021 12:23

I agree, too many rrrr

ALR2 · 04/08/2021 20:22

Thank you all for your comments. I think it probably is too R-y which is a shame because I liked the name a lot 😩
