Expecting a little girl in November and I’m stuck between:

  • Amber
  • Alexis
  • Stephanie

Please let me know your thoughts :)

Amber. Less chance of it shortened. Personally can't see the point in choosing a name you love to end up with variations!!

I like them all...wouldn't go for Alexis as too close to Alexa in my opinion!

Amber is lovely

Stephanie is gorgeous and a underused

Stephanie feels a bit dated. Nickname Steph is a bit wet.
Not keen on Alexis and think she might be open to Alexa (Amazon) type jokes.
Amber is pretty and less likely to be shortened which is nice.

Amber. I wouldn't use a name similar to Alexa and Stephanie seems a bit dull.

Love Amber. Popular in the 90s but I don't think it's stuck in that decade as it still sounds great today.
Alexis is very 80's imo. And stuck there.
Stephanie has also had it's day.

Stephanie is fab. Imagine how refreshing that’ll sound in the classroom.
I despise Amber. It makes me think of Amber leaf tobacco. Even without that though. I don’t like the actual sound.
I can’t stand the “is” sound on Alexis. It just makes it seem so harsh. Alexie or Alexia are much prettier and friendlier sounding.
I also love Alex/Alexandra.

I like all of them.

I wouldn't use Alexis because of the Alexa thing.

Stephanie is nice and due a comeback. I like Steph.

Amber is also lovely and underused.

I have a real soft spot for Stephanie. It's a bit out of fashion now, but has a pretty sound and the nn's Stevie or Effie are quite cool.

My second choice would be Amber - don't love/don't hate.

Alexis is too unisex for me personally and I also think it has quite a harsh sound.

I love Amber, it's a lovely name. Paired with something classic as a middle name, like Victoria, Elizabeth or Mary.

I like all your names. They are pretty unusual for children at the moment, but are attractive.

I think Alexis is a lovely, strong-sounding name. It's got a different feel to Alexa and doesn't make me think automatically of it. Alix is another similar name.

Amber is also strong and pretty.

Stephanie feels a bit more dated to me and I'm more ambivalent about it. I maybe like it a little less because of being the feminine version of Stephen. Then again Stevie is an awesome nickname!

I really like alexis (or Alexa - really don't see why the Amazon connection matters. It's been a name far longer than that!).

I also like amber. Stephanie feels a bit dated.
