What do you think of the name Emmie? As a name on its own, not a nickname. :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
proopher · 01/08/2021 16:04

I would assume it was a nickname, I'm not fond of it on its own

Wolfiefan · 01/08/2021 16:08

I would assume a nickname. Pick Emma or Emily etc and use it as a nickname.

stripedbananas · 01/08/2021 16:18

It would be nice nickname for Emelia

SherbertLemons · 01/08/2021 16:18

Nickname for Emmaline

Holly60 · 01/08/2021 16:19

Emmie is a nickname

GiantToadstool · 01/08/2021 16:19

I think nick name. Loveky nickname for Emma or Emily

Hirewiredays · 01/08/2021 16:46

I know an Emy

SilverOtter · 01/08/2021 16:49

It's my dogs name❤️

DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2021 16:51

A nice diminutive, not great as a standalone name.

As an adult I'd be happy to be known as Emma/Emily/Emilia, but not Emmie.

bloominglovelyorange · 01/08/2021 16:53

I think it's a lovely name
It can be a nickname or standalone name

StephanieJ · 01/08/2021 16:59

I know a few people who have called their little girls Emmie (not as nn) and I love it! I've suggested it to my partner but he's having none of it haha xx

hellotello · 01/08/2021 17:01

It's beautiful !!!! Choose your name yourself don't let others influence !!! My child had the most insane name ever and I couldn't ever care less what people think

hellotello · 01/08/2021 17:03

Also reminded me of a song by a girl called emmie called more than this 😍😍

Datsandcogs · 01/08/2021 17:11

It’s a lovely nickname but please use it as such and give her a full name, even if she is only ever known as Emmie.

ofwarren · 01/08/2021 17:15

I think it's great as a nickname for Emmeline or Emily.

Galley649 · 01/08/2021 17:20

It wouldn't be my choice (too much of a nickname in my opinion) but I do know one who is about 12 about it's fine - everyone calls her Emmy not another assumed full name, people can pronounce it, no awful connotations.

RuthW · 01/08/2021 18:22

I think it's awful on it's own.

ILoveShula · 01/08/2021 19:29

Too nicknamey. Could be Emmy short for Emmylou

Katefoster · 01/08/2021 20:38

I know a couple of Emmies and that's their full name. I really like it

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/08/2021 20:42

Too nn for me and it's rare enough (unlike say Milly, Rosie, Evie etc) that I think she'll/you'll get a lot of people asking what it's short for. I do have a secret soft spot for the Emme spelling though - I like a good palindrome name!

brizzlewizzle · 01/08/2021 21:50

Love it and wanted to use it for our DD, but felt it needed to be a nickname. We settled on Emilia on our list but didn't use it

Buttercup54321 · 01/08/2021 22:20

I would use it as a nickname but call her Emma or Emily.

Figgyboa · 01/08/2021 22:32

My cousins name is Emmy, full name not nickname. I think its lovely

Chilldonaldchill · 02/08/2021 07:24

I don't dislike it but do prefer it as a nickname.

Violetlavenders · 02/08/2021 07:30

Em or Emmie are nicknames imo. I like Emma or Emilia.
