Husband’s name is Skylar so we want to use that or his middle name Chase. Last name is Lindsey. Here is my list:

Skylar Bowen “Bo”
Skylar Greer and call him Greer
Skylar Judson “Judd”
Skylar Wells and go by Wells
Skylar Garrison
Griffin Chase
Brody Skylar

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated!

I thought Skylar was a girls name?
Brodie is the only one that’s half decent.

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/07/2021 21:44

Brody Skylar gera my vote, such a cool sounding name

DrDresaid · 27/07/2021 21:45

I like Greer!

sparklyblue81 · 27/07/2021 21:50

If you want to use skylar but not actually call baby that, wouldn’t it be easier to have that as the middle name? I like brody & Griffin

WilsonandNoodles · 27/07/2021 21:51

Either Griffin Chase or Brody Skylar. I'm not a fan of giving a first name to use the middle name from the start or loosing individuality by having the same name as a parent.

hlindsey · 27/07/2021 21:56

True! I know. I just felt like it flowed better for Skylar to be first.

Brody Skylar is my favourite from your list.

How about Judd Skylar? I like Judd better than Judson.

I also once knew a Rudd, which might work for you?

They're all awful.

RestingStitchFace · 28/07/2021 21:17

Prefer Chase to Skylar to be honest and I think it will be easier to pair names with Chase.

floatingon · 28/07/2021 21:18

Brody Skylar

Enough4me · 28/07/2021 21:19

Griffin Chase (Griff)

StevieNix · 28/07/2021 21:23

I like pervious posters suggestion of Judd Skylar! Not too keen on your other suggestions

BackforGood · 28/07/2021 21:28

I mean, clearly we have very different tastes, so I'm not going to say what I think of your name choices, BUT I have to agree with sparklyblue81 it is going to be a LOT less hassle for any person going through life, to have the name you intend to use given to them as their first name.
Don't give them a first name you have no intention of using.

Enough4me · 30/07/2021 13:54

What did you decide in the end OP?

EllaBlaire · 30/07/2021 13:57

These are definitely not mumsnet approved names Grin
I agree though, don’t call him by his middle name, just give him the name you want him to have as his first name.

Standrewsschool · 30/07/2021 17:03

Griffin or Brody.

Katefoster · 30/07/2021 20:40

Griffin Chase

I feel like Skyler would be a lovely tribute to your partner, but my personal opinion is that it would be much better as a second name. I just feel like it gives your son more individuality whilst still having a lovely tribute. My sons middle name is after my Grandad and my sister used my Dads name as her sons middle name. I think it's so lovely and I love telling my son about my Grandad. But I picked that name for me and my connection with my Grandad, my son is who he is and has his own name to become his own person.
I'm not knocking anyone's choice and hope o don't sound rude! That's just my thought process :)

november90 · 30/07/2021 22:41

I also like Bowen/Bo chase ☺️

Nohomemadecandles · 30/07/2021 22:48

It sounds like the cast of Paw Patrol but if you like it, go for it!

Whatever you use, use it as a first name.
