Baby name dilemma!

I'm now approaching the end of my pregnancy (scary stuff!) and we are still unsure about a name for our little man.

We are stuck between:
Arthur John Cross
George John Cross

I don't think any of those initials will cause problems but I'm not sure if George John flows (not that you say the middle name often). We can't change the middle name as that is a family tradition.

Also there is the George cross award 🤣

Help?

Both pretty awful.... very 1950s. Remind me of a hovis advert for some reason.

If you really want George then give him your surname!

Katefoster · 25/07/2021 19:34

Arthur

No negative association with the George Cross just wouldn't give my son a name that is a widely known other thing.

Firebird83 · 25/07/2021 20:01

Arthur. Not George Cross!

Agree with pp. There are no negative connotations with the George Cross, but it's already a thing, it's a medal. It's just very odd to name your child after a medal. As pp said, we all love a Henry Hoover, wouldn't name my child after one!

Arthur

I think George John Cross is lovely

RuthW · 25/07/2021 21:40

You can't have George Cross!

NotMeekNotObedient · 27/07/2021 13:11

Arthur John Cross

George John doesn't flow so well.

Lena264 · 28/07/2021 11:54

Arthur John Cross

I like George but prefer Arthur and prefer Arthur with John and Cross too :)
