Finding it so so hard. Almost every name I think of, either someone close or relatively close to us has used it. Or we have a family member with that name. Why are boy names much more difficult?

We liked Reggie, realised someone we know has used that name
Bobby, too
Alfie is nice but it is our friend’s name and I feel lol we associate it so much with them
Ronnie has been taken by someone close

I just dont really like any others.

Theo, Lucas, Luca, Rory, Percy - all taken.

I know it’s only trivial but these are people/children we’d associate with often so want a different name for our baby. Very stressed :(

If you are at all bothered about very "popular" names be wary of Freddie and Bertie. I work in a nursery.

I wanted Woody as our boys name but it was a big fat no from DH and we are having a girl anyway. Please use it for me Grin

JustAWalkingTalkingCotBed · 24/07/2021 16:32

Albi short for Albert

AustinPowerful · 24/07/2021 16:34

Love Vincent/ Vinny as suggested y previous poster!

BiBabbles · 24/07/2021 16:37

It is hard with a big family and/or work & friend group having kids around the same time.

Similar-ish style:

Ending in the -ee sound:
Avery
Amery
Emery

2-syllable, classicish:
Aldus
Brandr
Cyrus
Jason
Rial

Questionablecheese · 24/07/2021 22:51

Thanks everyone! None jumping out at me :/ in fact a few have mentioned my name lol, my DHs and also my eldest’s. So at least there’s a pattern 🤣
