We haven’t found out whether our baby is a girl or boy but trying to get a list of potential names for both but struggling!

Here is what we like so far but would appreciate any other ideas

Girls

Libby
Thea
Freya
Rosie
Sofia
Hallie

Boys

Seth
Dylan
Alexander

Open to combinations of the above too for middle names. Just feel totally stuck as we like them but don’t love them!

Really like Alexander. Love it in its full form but short names from it are nice too. Dylan is ok and Seth is not anywhere near as nice imo.

Like Sophia and Libby but would probably have it as short for something.

I quite like all your boys choices - although classic Alexander is by far my fave (so many nn choices and very timeless). 2nd choice Seth, 3rd Dylan.

Less keen on your girls choices. They all feel less classic/a bit trendy to me (apart from Sophia/Sofia but that is very popular). I like Libby as a nn for Elizabeth and Rosie as a nn for Rose though (or Rosanna, Rosalie etc).

I also quite like Eleanor and Felicity but not overly keen on Flick as a potential nickname. DP not keen on those two though.

Honestly every name on there is nice. Of the boys I prefer Alexander but also have a soft spot for Seth - I wanted to use it but where I live they would say ‘Seff’ which I hate.

Of the girls all are nice but my favourites are Thea and Libby.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 19/07/2021 23:23

I like Felicity - and I think Fliss is as popular a nn as Flick if that helps?

Eleanor is beautiful and makes a lovely "match" in style with Alexander imo - both are similar classics with lots of nn's (I like Nell but there's also Leni, Nora, Ellie, Ella..).

If you like Eleanor you might also like lovely Helena and if you like Felicity, you might like similar Verity?

I also like all the names on your list.
My favourites are Libby, Hallie and Freya.
I like Alexander with a nn of Sacha.

DoucheCanoe · 19/07/2021 23:32

I like all of them :)

Hallie Sofia and Dylan Alexander are nice combos imo.

Overgroundunderground · 20/07/2021 11:13

Libby is really growing on me seeing it written down but we have a L surname so not sure if it’s too much L going on!

Alexander is my favourite off the boys but again I am not keen on NN’s really. I think that’s why a lot of the names chosen are short.

Only one I like is Alexander.

Libby is awful.

MadeOfStarStuff · 20/07/2021 18:58

Libby short for Elizabeth is my all time favourite name

For your boys name I really like Alexander

PumpkinKlNG · 20/07/2021 19:16

Love Libby

RedToothBrush · 20/07/2021 19:31

I have a feeling Thea is about to be one of the names that has a sudden massive jump in popularity.

I like it but I'd stay away from it for that reason.

Seth always reminds me of baddies in films. Dunno why.

Tate, Tia, Sadie, Blythe, Bridget, Xavier?

TatianaBis · 20/07/2021 20:18

I love Blythe. And Xavier but it would inevitably get pronounced Zayvee er.
