To me it’s in the same vein as Susannah. Nothing wrong with it, although the ‘ette’ suffix is a bit frilly to my mind.

I don't really dislike it, but it just feels bit dated to me somehow in the way classic Anna does not - I'm not sure why. Even Anne has a kind of retro/historical feel that I prefer I think.

I actually know a woman who decided not to take her husband's surname on marriage because she'd have been Annette Curtin She finds it funny too, so I'm allowed to laugh.

Back to the point... I'm not keen on Annette, it's a bit fussy for me, but I do like Nettie.

I really like Annette was a childhood friend ans she was lovely so positive association's for me.
