Jared?

I posted the other day about Ivan as a brother for Travis. DH has suggested Jared and we like it just as much. Just wondering which one you think sounds better with Travis?

Either is good but with Travis, I’d choose Jared.

Jared reminds me of Jared Leto who gives me the ick.

I do think Jared goes better with Travis.

Jared still brings Donald Trump to mind for a lot of people, which for me would be a reason to stay clear . Also (though this might be a bit niche) its the name of a very unsympathetic person in a radio comedy called Party.

Jared immediately made me think of the Goblin King in Labyrinth, which is no bad thing!

That's Jareth, but yes David Bowie in tights is an excellent namesake!

I haven't heard it in a long time. Same with Travis.

I love Jared. Had my youngest been a boy that was our name choice.

He’s a strange one - manages to be possibly the most attractive man I’ve ever seen but also makes me cringe myself inside out (especially now he thinks he’s the messiah).

But yes, I like Jared and would have used it if DH hadn’t vetoed me naming our child after my teenage crush (spoil sport).

I actually really like Ivan! I used to look after a little one and we all called him The Terrible, sort of ironic as he was the most easygoing child at nursery.

Jared is ok too, reminds me of Jared Leto and Jared Padalecki.

For a small twist, what about Jarlath.

Jared is very nice imo - a simple, underused (in the UK) Biblical name (although I do secretly really love Jareth ). I prefer it to Ivan, which always is followed by "the Terrible" in my head, sorry

When I was in my teens I was in love with Dusty in Dallas played by Jared Martin haha showing my age 😂 I’ve loved the name Jared ever since.

I’m not keen on Jared and I do prefer Ivan, but I think Jared probably goes better with Travis.

Ivan is quite cool, especially with Van as a nickname even though Van Morrison is a bit of a dick these days
